Design Engineer Draughtsman - Experience Requirements

• Ideally educated to a minimum HND level in Mechanical Engineering (Degree would be preferred)

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking a Sound No.3 Mix Cover on the West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience in sound, the ability to work under pressure and within a team and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly and the sound design is maintained.

Responsibilities include the preparation, rigging, maintenance and operation of the sound design. Ideal candidates would have experience in running radio mics, mixing, the operation of QLab and a knowledge Yamaha and Digico desks.

All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our Schools.
