A day in the life of a Murphy Design Engineer


- To design protection and control system according to project specific requirements for electrical substation up to a voltage of 400kV
- Prepare single line diagram and key line diagram of substation project.
- To prepare project specific electrical design for plants like circuit breaker, disconnector, earth switch etc. Design should be in line with generic drawing from OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
- To review protection and control drawing from OEM for overall system integration and provide interface details.
- To prepare electrical interlocking drawing as requirements in line client’s technical specification.
- To produce wiring/ termination diagram, low voltage cable schedule, cable block diagram, core sheets etc. as required for project delivery.
- Technical support during construction & commissioning including formal response to site technical queries, i.e., preparation of mods for design modification to rectify design error or any other reason that compels to amend the design to fulfil the functional requirements.
- To prepare technical specification of different P & C equipment for supplier’s quotation.
- Work closely with other sections of substation engineering design team to enable effective collaboration on multi-disciplinary projects and facilitate an optimal engineering function.
- Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
- Where required supervision of assistant engineers, junior engineers or CAD operators.

Synopsis of the role

The Data Architect is an organizational thought leader recognized internally and externally as the lead designer of our data assets. Leveraging Data Fabric as an enabler for business transformation, this leader is responsible for designing high level data architecture that enables the organization's transformation from a credit bureau to a data and analytics power house.  In conjunction with the rest of the Data team, this role will play a critical role in the overall data strategy by staying current on emerging trends and innovation in modern data management methods. Reporting to the VP, Data Modernization and working closely with the IT organisation, the Enterprise Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing new data architecture that leverages our investment in Cloud technology, including the development of alternate data exchanges within our Data Fabric, and building more flexible tools to ingest and leverage a broader range of data assets . Position Summary

The Engineer II position is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. DSST Public Schools is looking for a Creative Content Manager to drive online marketing and communications efforts for the network, with a strong emphasis on building the capacity of our schools to effectively communicate and engage with their stakeholders. They will review digital opportunities, aid the marketing team and schools, oversee the annual social media marketing plan and schedule, create social media posts, and coordinate the update of digital assets for DSST Home Office and Schools. The Coordinator will be responsible for tracking and monitoring current social media trends and constantly looking for new opportunities in digital marketing that can help elevate DSST’s brand and drive more engagement with our communities. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation

• Create strong branded content on social media and our website using strong writing, design and management of systems.

• Serve as a key member of the DSST Marketing and Communications Team by working collaboratively to build efficient systems and take creative ideas from concept to final product.

The successful candidate will use modeling and simulation techniques to solve pharmaceutical industrial research problems related to batch and continuous manufacturing with special emphasis on powder flows, mixing, processing and compaction.

Experience with computational techniques is required, such as: discrete element method (DEM), process models and statistical techniques, population-balance models (PBM), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and engineering models. Applicants must have a post-graduate qualification  (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related discipline with a focus on the modeling of powder/granular flows using DEM. Close collaboration with Pfizer project scientists is essential – candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to identify opportunities to apply modeling to develop drug products. This full-time position is based in Chennai, India.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Pfizer project scientist to understand the challenges and needs when developing drug-dosage forms (tablets, capsules, ointments/creams, multiparticulate beads, etc.). Identify opportunities to use engineering knowledge and computational tools to help solve project challenges. Be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, to define the problem statement, then develop and execute a modeling work plan to solve the issue.

Using a variety of computational techniques, develop predictive tools and models to support drug development/manufacturing efforts for the Pfizer portfolio. Modeling techniques include (but not necessarily limited to): discrete element method (DEM),  data science & statistical techniques, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), population-balance models (PBM), and first-principles engineering models.

Plan and execute experimental studies in collaboration with experimental experts to support/validate modeling efforts. Work with Pfizer scientists to apply and implement modeling tools into project workflows.

Communicate and present results internally at meetings and, on occasion, at external forums. Present scientific results to a diverse audience through data analysis and visualizations. Support Pfizer’s key technology platforms: continuous tablet manufacturing and multiparticulates, via computational modeling.

Work with external partners (e.g., universities, research organizations) and vendors (e.g., software companies) to execute and deliver well-defined modeling projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

Post-graduate qualification (PhD) in relevant field e.g. chemical, mechanical, pharmaceutical engineering with focus on process modelling.
