Fawkes And Reece have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading regional main contractor abased in Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire.

This role will be split between site (Bridlington), remote / home and head office in Leeds occasionally. You will be working on a £30m D&B residential scheme consisting of approx 60 new build houses and a luxury 70 bed care home.

Duties of a Quantity Surveyor:

• To be involved in negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedure
• To quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring the company gets value for money on all jobs carried out.
• To build strong relationships with our customers to ensure open communication and expectations of invoicing is met at all times.
• To prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports. To manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures. Includes obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, valuing subcontract works and payments and agreeing subcontract final accounts.

Requirements of a Quantity Surveyor:

• Relevant Degree or Qualifications
• Experience working for a main contractor
• Experience on new build projects.
• Proven experience of developing client relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills.

• Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
• Maintaining quality control procedures.
