Fawkes And Reece have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced freelance or permanent Quantity Surveyor to join a well established and award winning regeneration company based in North East.

This role will be based at my clients Sunderland office but will require regional travel to visit our current projects, meet with clients and attend meetings. As a Quantity Surveyor you will be working on major contracts within the social housing sector.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• To be involved in negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedure
• To quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring the company gets value for money on all jobs carried out.
• To build strong relationships with our customers to ensure open communication and expectations of invoicing is met at all times.
• To prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports. To manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures. Includes obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, valuing subcontract works and payments and agreeing subcontract final accounts.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Relevant Degree or Qualifications
• Experience of managing multiple projects.
• Proven experience of developing client relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills.

They are looking for an experienced QS to join their close knit team. This will be working across approximately 4-5 contracts (JCT form) across the Cumbria and North East region, based from the company's North Shields offices.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your duties will include:

• • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects
  • Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client/Client's representative
  • Prepare CVRs for the Management team
  • Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time
  • Value and authorise payments to subcontractors
  • Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements
  • Liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and the Client to establish project specification and requirements
  • Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary
  • Monitor the contract progress, assess and report any changes that may affect project costs and or time scale
  • Assist in the control of individual contract budgets
  • Ensure all necessary contract documentation / reports are accurate and produced on time.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a stable and progressive career history as a Quantity Surveyor.

An exciting opportunity has come up to work with a stable London Developer who are looking for an additional Quantity Surveyor within their team. With multiple regions within London they are pushing to reach a £600 Million turnover within the next year and have a strong pipeline of projects live and kicking off in London.

I am currently on the search for a Site engineer to work on a major project worth £80m in Kensington. My client is a tier 1 main contractor and their looking for someone to start in the beginning of December in order to hit the ground running in January.

The project is a 4 storey steel frame structure which runs for around 48 weeks, right now they are at enabling works. There will be a senior engineer who is permanently employed based on site and he needs a site engineer to help out.

Essential:

You will be required to understand rebar and formwork drawings, set out rebar and formwork in accordance with the project requirements including health and safety.

Role Responsibility

• Setting out with Total Station.

• The Site Engineer will liaise between Section Engineer, General Foreman to ensure effective planning, coordination, and use of project resources.

• Feed in to the 6-weekly programmes look ahead in conjunction with section Engineers for review at the weekly progress meetings.

• Drawing take-off for timely material ordering and delivery.

• Monitoring rebar and formwork installation in accordance with permanent design, Temp works designs and ITP.

• Reviewing rebar and formwork drawings, setting out of rebar and formwork.

• Assist in drafting inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works for review and approval by Section Engineer.

• Produce as built records, fill in ITP check sheets and ensuring hold points are maintained.

• Deliver start of shift briefings, inductions and toolbox talks.

• Communicate to the QA and QS teams' non-conformance's, and any instructions received from the client / designer / RE's staff. Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.

• Procure Materials through requisitions.

• Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any delays, changes / variations, subcontractor's attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client / designer / RE / project team.

• Adherence to project policies and procedures.

• Attendance to Quality and Temp Works meetings.

The position is paying between £300 - £330cis, we are looking for someone to interview asap.
