We are seeking a dedicated Property Surveyor to provide property surveying services primarily within our home care directorate, with occasional support to other areas of the business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, inspecting, and resolving issues related to our property stock, preparing work schedules, and offering project management support for both minor and major works.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and assess repair requests and defects, providing technical advice and solutions where immediate repairs are not feasible.
• Investigate technical defects or disrepair issues, including property inspections, and produce comprehensive Housing Conditions reports.
• Support the legal department with technical expertise regarding disrepair or legal claims.
• Offer technical maintenance advice to support business decisions, liaising with operations managers, trade staff, subcontractors, and external consultants.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations for repairs or specialist works in line with financial regulations.
• Approve Disabled Facility Grant applications and oversee the associated works, including site progress and final inspections.
• Assist with customer permissions and retrospective permissions requests.
• Support the property care team with surveying requirements for planned maintenance programs.
• Conduct property inspections to assess component replacement schedules and advise on inclusion in maintenance programs.
• Maintain high standards of customer care, addressing queries and complaints with empathy and efficiency.
• Collaborate across all directorates to share knowledge and drive improvements.
• Ensure high-quality written and oral communication to maintain accurate data and information systems.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Knowledge Experience Required:

• Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, networking, and negotiation abilities.
• Motivated and enthusiastic, with the capacity to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Commercially astute, with a focus on achieving value for money.
• Experience in building maintenance or surveying.
• Relevant degree or HND/HNC in Building Surveying or a related construction qualification.
• Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (advantageous).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
• Full driving licence and access to transport, or the ability to travel efficiently to locations not served by public transport.

They are currently seeking a motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in the Buckinghamshire area. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out tasks independently, occasionally leading a small group of commercial staff. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards of commercial performance.

I am recruiting Assistant Quantity Surveyors for a Tier 1 national construction business based in Berkshire but initially to work on a new office and lab scheme and a Data Centre in Slough.

The company are a recognised brand with turnover in excess of a billion per year but still retain a family feel to the business in terms of values and how they treat staff, clients and the wider supply chain.They work on frameworks and negotiated schemes in the education, health care, retail and development, office and data marketplaces. Project values range from £25 to £90 million and they are with the client every step of the way offering advice, support and finding new and innovative ways of working.

Your duties will be to work with the estimating and bid teams to firm up prices and costs for each package based on the initial bids, compile a working scope of works and bill of quants for each package and work with the supply chain to establish how each phase will be delivered. Place orders, arrange pre start meetings and then manage the scheme in conjunction with the delivery team and carry out the standard QS role of valuations, payments, remeasures, managing variation accounts, CVR's and weekly, monthly reporting and forecasting through to final account all under the supervision of a Senior Qs who will help with your training and development.

The initial schemes are a new build office and lab scheme £30 million and 2 Data Centres valued at £25 million each.
