Experienced Support Worker– Kirkcaldy/Glenrothes/Leven

The role

At Real Life Options we support our service users to live their life the way they choose, we have a strong emphasis on person centred care to enable our service users to live as independently as possible.

You will be supporting individuals with a variety of needs. A typical day would start with a handover from the previous day, following daily planner, helping with finances, personal care, domestic support and medication. A crucial part of the support you provide will be centred on social activities in the local community such as; going to the gym, swimming, cinema, discos, football matches and visiting places of interest.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 6 months experience in support worker (or similar) role. Our service users can present challenging behaviour, therefore experience is essential. Candidates should have the ability to follow detailed support plans to ensure a consistent approach. Candidates need to be able to learn different forms of communication and adapt to working with several individuals with varying needs.

Working with the people we support is incredibly rewarding. You will be part of a supportive, responsive and friendly team. There is a huge amount of knowledge and experience in our staff team. We have an attrition rate of less than 10%, which is excellent for the sector and a reflection of what a good place this is to work.

The people we support receive 1:1 and 2:1 throughout the day. Shift patterns are generally 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm and 8:00pm-11:00pm (sleepover shift),

There are also outreach shifts that are anywhere from 3 to 8 hours between the hours of 7:00am – 11:00pm. Staff may also be required to do Waking Nights to cover holidays/ sickness.

.An Enhanced PVG is required for this role. Previous experience is desirable for this position although full training will be provided.

Support Worker

Salary: £12.00 per hour

Location: Beechwood- Cupar Area North East Fife Services

35 hours contract and relief positions available

About the role:

You would be guiding and supporting individuals with day to day tasks such as: - following a daily planner, helping with financial expenditure, personal care, domestic support and administration of daily medication.

One of the best parts of the role is to spend time in the community. The activities that you will be involved with include going to the gym, swimming and using public transport. You will be continuously encouraging independence and integration in social settings.

Shifts include;

Working days - 8am to 3pm and 3pm to 10pm

Waking nights, sleepovers and weekends - 4am to 11am and 7.30am 2.30pm

Previous experience is desirable for this position although full training will be provided.

An enhanced PVG will be required for this role.

Senior Service Lead Dunfermline – 35 hours per week

£27,000 per annum

We are looking for a Senior Service Lead to join our friendly and welcoming team in Dunfermline. You’ll have a really rewarding role working with a great team of people. We deliver creative, dynamic and person centred services providing a range of individualised support to our service users.

The Role

The Senior Service Lead will report directly to the Registered Locality Manager and will work closely with other senior team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services. This comprehensive role requires a compassionate and experienced leader; the role is essential to the continuous improvement and effective operation of our services. We aim to provide the best possible person centred support to adults with autism and learning difficulties while fostering a supportive and professional environment for our staff

It is important that you uphold and implement our values, policies and procedures and are a positive role model for the staff team. You will regularly conduct supervisions and appraisals to monitor performance, provide feedback, and support professional growth. You will ensure the team are up to date on all required training and registrations, assisting where needed to ensure we have an highly effective and well informed workforce.

You will be required to conduct regular health and safety audits across services to promote a safe living and working environment. This will involve identifying and coordinating any required maintenance and auditing paperwork against high compliance standards. You will also work with our staff, service users and external parties to regularly review care plans; ensuring they are accurate and implementing changes where necessary so they fully represent and promote the service users’ individual needs.

Part of the role will also involve welcoming new employees into our service. You will greet potential candidates, conducting service tours to provide them with an understanding of the working environment and role expectations. Furthermore, you will facilitate detailed service-specific inductions for new starters, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed about their duties and the organisational culture.

An enhanced Adult PVG application will be required for successful applicants

Qualifications and Experience


To be a registered member of the SSSC
Level 3 SQV in health and social care
Significant experience in the social care sector
Proven leadership and management experience
Applicants must be drivers with access to their own vehicle due to the large locality we cover

Support Worker - Full Time and Part Time roles available

Location: Dunfermline

£12.00 per hour

Every day is different as we promote our service users to make their own choices, achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

This role will involve working in supported living and day services across Dunfermline and West Fife. As a whole they consist of 11 separate properties. The individuals we support have varied levels of verbal communication, autism, and epilepsy. It would be advantageous if you have previous experience of working with adults with challenging behaviour, although this is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working 1:1 with individuals on a 24 hour rota, you will provide support with; medication administration, personal care, household tasks, leisure pursuits, social inclusion, and emotional support.

Shift patterns are generally 08:00am-3:00pm and 3:00pm to 10:00pm.
