The Role

Key purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of property and estate related capital projects and programmes across a defined portfolio which could include Regeneration, Arts, culture & Leisure or Schools

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• provide a critical enabling role to facilitate the successful delivery of the service directorates-built environment priorities.
• develop strong working relationships with stakeholders from across the Council team and provide them with assurance that their requirements from property and projects are embedded within the Strategic Asset Management Plan
• responsible for the implementation of the council Estate Strategy and asset management plans by acting as the key interface between stakeholder clients and the property services

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to have a degree in a building, engineering or construction related subject. MRICS or CIOB Qualified with demonstrable post qualification experience as a Building Surveyor, Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor.

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

• Knowledge of traditional and modern building construction techniques, building regulations, CDM and safety legislation.
• Up to date knowledge of current and prevailing health & safety legislation and guidance, British Standards, Buildings Regulations and Codes of Practice.
• Up to date knowledge of the challenges facing the Education Sector including changes in regulatory pressures.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and frameworks.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £450 p/d Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £392 p/d PAYE)

About the role

Responsibilities

• Management and leadership of projects both pre and post-contract across a number of sectors including, but not limited to Housing, Education and Local Government;
• Comply with Identity Consult's internal quality and project management procedures, to include reporting, change control, risk management and gateway approvals;
• Develop programmes, using Microsoft Project;
• Financial management of own commissions;
• Lead on major project management commissions, taking responsibility for all aspects of service delivery;
• Preparation of contracts for commissions;
• Ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards;

Quantity Surveyor

About the role
To provide a Quantity Surveying / Employer's Agent services across a range of projects delivered by client and be responsible for all aspects of service delivery from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead Consultant under supervision of a Senior Consultant or above, in the delivery of projects both pre and post-contract across a number of sectors relevant to the individual;
• Comply with Identity Consult's internal quality assurance management procedures and governance;
• Undertake all aspects of financial management of projects;
• Preparation of appointments and contracts for commissions;
• Ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards;
• Preparation of interim valuations, contract instructions and final accounts;
• Contract and dispute advice;
• Employer's Agent / Contract Administrator services including issuing of appropriate project certification;
• Carry out the appointment and co-ordination of other consultants and contractors where required;

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years for a construction related organisation;
• Experience of workload demand planning and developing resourcing strategies to deliver the work plan;
• Have good techniques and processes for tracking progress with tasks assigned to others and for dealing with delivery issues;
• Substantial experience of preparing, monitoring, and controlling budgets within a value for money framework;

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to provide the full range of Quantity Surveying services on complex projects as required under a commission including all Pre-Contract and Post-Contract services.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Pre-contract services are delivered effectively on complex projects and measured quantities meet the New Rule of Measurement. Suitable procurement arrangements are used including form of contract, insurance responsibilities, warranties, and bonds.
• Produce estimates in early design stages for stage sign offs and project approvals.
• Ensure full compliance with EU procurement and Public Procurement Rules.
• Estimates of prime cost and provisional sums establish levels of contingencies on complex projects. Contract documents are prepared to suit the adopted form of contract and tenders received contain no errors
• Assess and process Contractor payments.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to have a Quantity Surveying related qualification to graduate level and have appropriate experience within a multi-disciplined professional design organisation.

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

• Project and Programme Management. Planning, delivering, and evaluating a series of interrelated activities, undertaken to achieve a specific end result within a set timeframe, working to formal project management methodology.
