my client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This exciting opportunity is based on Hinkley Point C with a well established company . The main part of your job will be:

• Managing change through CEMAR, ensuring adherence to contractual timescales.
• Ensure timely production of Monthly Applications for Payment in accordance with the conditions of the contract.
• Provide commercial advice to the site team and management on all contractual issues.
• Oversee supply chain management by drafting and issuing NEC3 subcontracts, ensuring clear communication of contractual obligations and terms.
• Prepare internal contract valuations, ensuring accurate assessments of project costs and progress.
• Prepare monthly cost and value reports and present findings to senior management.
• Foster effective communication with project managers, the managing QS and associated engineering disciplines.
• Compile forecasts and attend forecast meetings, contributing to data-driven decision-making and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
• Support Contracts Managers and operational teams by offering sound commercial advice on projects, leveraging industry expertise and best practices.
• Mentor junior members of the commercial team, facilitating their professional growth and knowledge transfer, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Manage projects to maximise opportunities and minimise risk

To be successful, you'll need:

• To possess an excellent understanding of NEC forms of contracts.
• A relevant, degree level qualification
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and office packages
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from £10k to £10m
• Excellent commercial awareness
• Be driven and self-motivated
• Experience in producing internal and external reports
• Nuclear, M&E or civils background - desirable
• Experience working under TSC contracts - desirable
• Relevant professional qualification (RICS/CICES) - desirable

About the role

Responsible for ensuring that responsive repairs, including relets, are carried out satisfactorily from end-to-end of the process, including monitoring the work of the trade teams and contractors, from start to completion, ensuring delivery of high-quality work, getting work done "right-first-time" and achieving high customer satisfaction within budgetary targets and providing a cost effective, value for money service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre and post repairs, exchange and relet inspections as directed by the Council's scheduling system and in liaison with the Trade Teams. Diagnose, assess and specify work required, in consultation with the customer. Order work through the Council's IT systems.
• Manage the delivery and quality of work carried out by internal workforce Trade Teams and external contractors, in order to maximise customer experience and satisfaction, taking the lead responsibility on dealing with any issues or complaints in a timely manner, ensuring any lessons learnt from these experiences are implemented as part of driving forward improvements to the service and continuously improving customer experience.
• Own repairs and complaints taking responsibility for actioning from end-to-end of the process. Ensure that where work is delegated or carried out by other parties, such as contractors, that over-view is managed and deadlines achieved successfully. Ensure customers are kept informed of progress throughout the process and that the work is completed to quality, financial and time targets. Champion an excellent customer/stakeholder experience with Housing Delivery Responsive Repairs.
• Take responsibility for maintaining excellent levels of communication with customers from end to end of the service.
• Manage customer expectation on escorted viewing of relets. Ensure clarity on letting standards and tenant responsibility.
• Specify the property refurbishment requirements ensuring the project is delivered to the target timescale and within budget
• Manage quotes from external contractors for specialist work, including achieving value for money whenever possible. Monitor and action dependencies, such as scaffolding checks. Ensure coordination and sequencing of work between teams and contractors.

1. Condition Surveys and reports on condition
2. Contribution to a providing a planned maintenance programme
3. Project Management and specification of minor capital projects max £1-2m including seeking planning (including Listed building consent) and building control consent, awarding and managing build contract.
4. Managing responsive and remedial repairs by appointing contractors to undertake minor repairs including specification and seeking consents for repairs if necessary.
5. Specific advice, calculation and specification of mechanical and electrical systems for replacement and renewal or supply to new capital project.
6. Specification, contract award and management off supply of new M and E systems for new construction.
7. Advice and calculation of replacement systems to enable bidding for Public Sector decarbonisation and contribution to Net Zero targets.
8. high degree of work with the commercial estate team working within Bath's predominantly retail portfolio

Our Client based in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Damp & Mould Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, permanent role with the ideal candidate possessing extensive Surveying knowledge and experience ideally for / on behalf of a Social Housing Provider.

The role involves surveying customer homes and communal spaces. You will be working alongside our residents and leaseholders taking ownership of ensuring that repairs are managed end to end and to manage issues and complaints that arise before, during or after works.

You will have surveying experience, preferably in Social Housing. You can carry out building diagnostics and have a working knowledge of the Schedule of rates. You will have an understanding of root cause and solution for damp and mould and be able to identify Asbestos. A great communicator, you will be confident in using Microsoft Office and producing clear reports on your findings. Our Clients next Surveyor will have the ability to work to tight deadlines and within budget. Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is required.

What do you need to do the role?

• A proven track record for delivering/managing multiple technical building projects.
• A working knowledge of Schedule of Rates.
• The ability to give great customer service to all of the alliance homes stakeholders
• A Formal Building qualification such as a RICs accredited course, BSC, HNC, HND or working towards one.
• Good working knowledge of Health and safety regulations and good practices inclusive of Construction design management
• Confident using IT such as Microsoft packages and Outlook.
• Experience of working with asset management, leasehold, response repairs, empty homes and programmed works.
• Experience of identifying Asbestos.
• Awareness of HHSRS risks
• Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
• A full driving licence.

Our Client is looking to move quickly and is offering £44,625 per year to be based in their Bristol office.
