Reporting to the Associate Director, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you are passionate about helping clients manage their construction costs and ensuring financial efficiency throughout the various stages of construction.

Job Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed and accurate cost analyses, estimates, cost plans and feasibility studies for construction projects.
Technically proficient at all aspects of pre and post contract QS service
Client facing and ability to manage clients expectations

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Expertise and accreditation in Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.

Advanced knowledge of the local construction industry including development, contracting and consulting sectors;
Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

With projects ranging up to £5 million, the company is involved in a mix of office fit-outs, leisure, and other commercial developments across the midlands and as north as Stoke. We are seeking a versatile Quantity Surveyor with the ability to also take on Estimating duties to join our team.

Position Overview
The Commercial Lead will be responsible for the financial management of projects, while also assisting with pricing and estimating. The role requires someone experienced and capable of hitting the ground running, with the ability to work on a variety of sectors and deliver projects up to £5 million. The successful candidate will start off primarily in office fit-out projects but must be flexible and willing to adapt to other sectors such as leisure. This is a client-facing role that offers hybrid working after the initial office-based induction period.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pricing: Prepare accurate cost estimates for a range of projects, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project specifications.
Cost Management: Oversee and manage project costs from start to finish, ensuring profitability and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Management: Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities.

Key Requirements
Experience: Ideally 5+ years' experience in a Commercial role, with proven ability to carry out estimating duties and handle projects independently.
Experience delivering projects up to £5 million, with a focus on office fit-outs and adaptability to work on leisure and other sectors.
Client-Facing Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building lasting client relationships and managing expectations.
Technical Expertise: Competent in preparing estimates, managing costs, and preparing contract documents such as bills of quantities.
Flexibility: Must be adaptable and open to working across multiple sectors, not restricted to any single industry.
Location Flexibility: Able to travel for projects across the Midlands, and as far north as Stoke.
Software Proficiency: Familiar with relevant quantity surveying and estimating software, as well as MS Office.

Your new role
:They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team to help successfully deliver contracts in the area due to an increase in workload. As a team of 4, you will be joining the company as a member of the team to work on project delivery success.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in their office 1-2 days a week, and also work from home and site on a hybrid basis.
Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee and manage all financial aspects of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Monitor project costs, prepare budgets, and manage financial risks.

In addition, you will have a strong understanding of administering NEC contracts and preferably hold a CSCS card. Finally, you will be commercially astute and have strong communication skills.
You will need to have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the civil engineering or construction sector. Experience in fit out or refurb projects is also highly desirable.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant software and tools. Membership of a relevant professional body would be advantageous but not essential.
