Job title: Group Tax Manager

Job Purpose: The Group Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning for the group. This role ensures the business adheres to relevant tax laws while optimizing its tax position in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance & Reporting:

Oversee and manage the preparation, filing, and submission of tax returns for the group, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting, including VAT compliance, tax provisions, and tax disclosures for financial statements.
Review and ensure proper tax documentation and record-keeping for VAT and other taxes in compliance with local, regional, and international tax laws.
Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate reporting and resolve any issues related to tax filings.
VAT Management:

Oversee the group's VAT compliance and reporting processes ensuring adherence to local VAT laws, rates, and compliance timelines.
Provide strategic guidance on VAT matters including recovery opportunities, intercompany VAT flows, and Capital Goods Scheme.
Work closely with finance and operations teams to optimize VAT positions, particularly focusing on VAT recovery and ensuring that VAT liabilities are minimized.
Ensure that VAT treatments of goods and services are correctly applied, considering applicable exemptions, reduced rates, and special schemes.
Advise the business on VAT issues arising from any potential cross-border transactions, supply chains and customs duties.
Corporate Tax Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the group’s tax exposure while ensuring compliance with all applicable corporate tax laws.
Lead the group’s tax forecasting, budgeting, and tax provision processes, providing insights on expected tax liabilities and opportunities for tax savings.
Transfer Pricing:

Oversee the group’s transfer pricing policy and documentation, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
Coordinate the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, including reports, intercompany agreements, and benchmarking studies.
Tax Risk Management:

Identify and manage tax risks across the group, including VAT, income tax, customs duties, and other tax types.
Lead and manage tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities, including VAT audits and VAT-related inquiries.
Stay updated on changes in tax legislation (including VAT and other indirect taxes) and assess their potential impact on the organization, advising on necessary adjustments.
Stakeholder Management & External Relations:
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on a wide range of tax issues, including corporate tax, VAT, customs duties, and employee taxes.
Develop and maintain a strong internal network with key stakeholders in finance, legal, and operations to ensure the tax function supports business objectives.
Support the business in evaluating and managing the tax implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and projects.
Collaborate with external tax advisors, legal counsel, and auditors to manage complex tax issues, including VAT planning, compliance, and audits.
Represent the company in dealings with tax authorities, ensuring compliance and managing any disputes or audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent tax qualification is highly preferred.
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in a tax role, with a strong background in VAT and corporate tax.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of VAT laws, corporate tax regulations, transfer pricing, and indirect tax compliance.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tax issues in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex tax legislation and provide actionable advice to the business.
Other: Proven ability to prioritise and manage workload to deliver results to key deadlines. Drive to continually review and improve processes
Desirable Attributes:

Proven ability to work under pressure and handle complex tax matters.

Job Title: People Services Advisor

Location: Bolton Head Office  

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

JOB PURPOSE:

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our People Services Advice team to provide a remote, responsive and compliant Employee Relations advisory service, in line with company specific policies and legislation.

Providing Managers across the organisation with full case management and administrative support on ER issues including safeguarding allegations, absence management, probation, AWOL, flexible working, conduct investigations, disciplinaries and change management. This is a varied role which would suit an organised, customer focused HR professional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support line managers remotely with general advice, ensuring all advice complies with legislation and is in line with Company specific policies and processes.
Provide case management of Employment Relations matters. Including provision of guidance to line managers on how to manage potential ER issues at the informal stage prior to any formal action and necessary follow-on actions.
Proactively monitor cases, through collaborative working with People Services team members to ensure cases are prioritised and support is provided to Operational Leaders as soon as possible, with escalations communicated to ERBP or HRBPs as necessary.
Support the People Services Administration team with escalated issues where necessary providing advice and guidance.
Implementing and administering employee policies and procedures.
Produce due diligence data as required and within agreed timescales.
To support the People Services Function and Leaders in continuous improvement initiatives in support of the People Strategy.

Job Title: Credit Controller (fixed term contract until September 2025).

Job Purpose:

To support the Credit Control Manager with providing an efficient and customer focused service for the management of invoicing and cash collection. The role will strive to ensure that timely payments are made, incoming funds are processed and reconciled, and account queries are resolved on a timely basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with customers to undertake effective collection and obtain earliest possible settlement of accounts to maintain cash flow.
Understand and follow customer procedures to ensure invoices are compliant and processed efficiently.
Maintain and build relationships with customers to maximise early payment of termly and monthly invoices.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure excellent service.
Liaise with internal departments, to resolve queries and manage these through to resolution.
Proactively engage with customers to deal with queries and to identify and manage the need for credit notes.
Send Statements & copy invoices where requested.
Process and reconcile incoming funds via accurate daily cash allocation.
Perform monthly accounts reconciliations as required.
Action and monitor all debtors; and Liaise with the Credit Control Manager to accurately forecast incoming cash receipts.

We are seeking a talented Senior Public Relations Manager to join our team here at Outcomes First Group!

Job Purpose:

As our Senior Public Relations Manager you will be responsible for collaborating with our PR partners (agency and investors) to ensure Outcomes First Group, trading brands and services are held in the highest regard with a specific focus on crisis management and adverse media interest. More broadly the role will include developing and implementing proactive PR strategies and campaigns, preparing press releases, organising PR events, analysing opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising.

The Public Relations Manager reports into the Executive team through Group Commercial Director and accountable to the CEO and lead investment partner. This role will also have close collaborative working relationships with the Marketing and Communications Team.

Core Role Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation of the company’s communication strategy with a strong emphasis on PR, crisis management and adverse media response.
Manages and provides input into a comprehensive PR / crisis communications strategy/playbook to reinforce image and reputation across all internal and external stakeholders.
Act as the primary contact with our retained PR agency and manage all these communications effectively.
First point of contact for media engagement (including out of hours).
Timely drafting/production of communications materials including press releases, talking points, fact sheets, and internal memos. Coordinate with colleagues to facilitate executive and investment partner review and signoff of communications materials.
Early identification and escalation of emerging issues to senior management.
Provide communications and issues management support to services when there is an adverse media event.
Monitor and maintain the adverse media reputation tracker.
Prepare and issue press releases to support, key policy themes and activities.
Qualifications and Experience:

7 Years plus experience working at an agency or in-house PR role, preferably in the special education services sector.
Ability to remain calm under pressure, handle stressful situations, think clearly and act fast.
A critical thinker, with the ability to manage risk whilst maintaining strong governance for an organisation. Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and effectively collaborate with teams across a broad network or schools.

About the Role

Outcomes First Group has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Qualifications and Apprenticeship Lead.

As our new Qualifications and Apprenticeship Lead, you will drive and provide a world class service to Outcomes First Group colleagues to support them with mandatory and developmental qualifications enabling compliance and future internal talent pipeline. 

Outcomes First Group are looking for a tenacious individual with an excellent eye for detail who can oversee apprenticeship progress and lead mandatory and developmental qualifications.

You will be motivated to help research and promote continued professional development and highly organised to support in the review and selection of providers, qualifications and in-house training programmes.

• Excellent eye for detail
• Used to working at pace in a fast-moving organisation
• Good understanding of apprenticeship levy and process and knowledge of statutory qualification requirements for sector
• Education and or care sector experience (desirable but not essential)
• CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) (desirable but not essential)
