A great opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, suitably qualified, experienced, confident and forward thinking individual to work as a Deputy Ward Manager, specifically on a male acute ward.
The Harbour is situated on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire, with the Ribble Valley to the South, the Bowland Hills to the East and not too distant from the Lake District. It also has the benefits of being situated in a quiet area, very close to motorway links, just off the M55
The Harbour consists of a variety of wards, including Adult Acute, 136, Older Adult Wards and Dementia Wards. The teams work very closely to support each other and there is a clear focus on support and professional development of our nurses.
We have a wealth of disciplines based at the Harbour, including Psychologists, Occupational Health Nurses, Health and Wellbeing Workers, Physical Health Nurses, Pharmacists and Psychiatric consultants. This ensures a holistic way of working and enables us to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients.
You must be able to provide clinical leadership and motivation to develop the existing staff whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating commitment to staff development and patient care.
You will promote and maintain high standards of care whilst supporting and assisting to implement local and national strategies and initiatives.
You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills and show great leadership and staff development skills. A strong commitment to your ongoing professional education and development is essential.
The successful post holder will be expected be able to rotate across the specialty areas and be able to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
As part of the pre-employment checks, successful candidates will be required to pay for their own DBS check at a cost of £44. Deductions will be taken from the first 3 months’ salary.
