Job Title: Children’s Senior Support Worker
Salary: £25,500 to £27,000 plus additional for sleep-ins
Location: Derbyshire
Hours of Work: Full Time (39 Hours per week)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join one of our Children’s Homes & Schools. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people
• Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person
• Provide good quality care, which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued
• Provide high-quality support to children and young people with emotional, mental health, and behavioural issues
• Implement care plans and risk assessments, ensuring the well-being of each individual
• Maintain a good level of spoken and written English to effectively communicate with individuals, families, and team members
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies related to children and young people's care
• Lead in meal preparation and provision within the home as well as organising and leading group activities and holidays
• Assess and observe behaviour of young people
• Complete administrative tasks including reviews, progress reports and incident reports
Requirements
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Hold a Current Valid Driving Licence
• Effective Leadership (12 months experience) in a similar role and environment
• Specialised experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
• Excellent IT skills- able to use outlook, word and excel
• Thorough knowledge of children legislations and safeguarding procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with young people, families and professionals
• A compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to make a difference.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings as required.
