Aylesbury Vale Academy is a popular all-through school based in Berryfields, Aylesbury, We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Pastoral Support Officer (Maternity Cover from January 2025 for 10 months), in the primary phased of Aylesbury Vale Academy.

Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 3 Point 16 to 20 (£27,310 to £29,295) Full-time Equivalent
Contract type: Fixed Term
Hours: 31.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year and actual salary will reflect this working pattern

About the role
The main responsibilities of the role will include:-
- Working with individual and small groups of pupils
- Assisting in the support and inclusion of children with Additional Educational and emotional Needs within the Academy
- Working with individual children and families when home, school or emotional concerns, are affecting or likely to affect the child's attendance, behaviour or engagement
- Aiding children to become independent, co-operative and collaborative learners both in groups and independently
- Assisting in ensuring that attendance registers are kept up-to-date and to monitor children's attendance on a daily, weekly, termly and annual basis
About you
The successful candidate needs to have experience in working in a school with children with many differing needs. They need to be patient and a good listener and want to make a difference to the life changes of all children.
The successful candidate must:-
- be proactive, solution-focussed and organised
- be able to display integrity and resilience and have good communication skills with ability to relate to pupils, teachers, parents/carers and other professionals
- have a GCSE in English and Maths (C grade at least) or equivalent qualification
