This role, based within the Local Taxes team in Pullar House, will assist in providing an effective and efficient service to Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates customers and assist the Council in maximising its income from these sources.

It will comprise a wide range of activities including the input collation and retrieval of information from various computerised systems in order to ensure the accuracy of Local Taxes databases and to identify and collect outstanding monies due to the Council.

The post holder will also assist with a range of administrative functions conducted within the Revenues, Benefits and Welfare service.

For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work on site for a minimum of 2 days per week with the arrangements for part time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree. Perth Academy is a large, friendly and inclusive high school with a student role of 1,000. You will work as part of our mainstream team to support a range of pupils with additional needs including learning, communication and social barriers to learning.

We are looking for a candidate to support our learners to access mainstream classes and achieve success, as well as working within the school’s designated support areas and undertake some 1:1 intensive recovery work with students.

We are seeking a practitioner who is highly motivated, reliable and willing to play an active role in the life and work of the support department and the wider school. You should demonstrate kindness, empathy and patience, be solution focussed but also able to work well as part of a supportive team. Experience (either paid or voluntary) of supporting young people with additional needs is desirable.

You should be able to demonstrate confidentiality in relation to young people and their families at all times.

As a Pupil Support Assistant (PSA) in our Intensive Support Provision (ISP) classrooms, you will work as part of a team supporting children and young people who have additional support needs to access learning under the direction of other members of the team.

Our ISP provides additional supports for children and young people who experience significant barriers to learning and development. They may have difficulties in relating to others, social communication, in regulating their behaviours, and in their use of flexible thinking. Many have sensory and motor difficulties, and problems in managing attention, controlling impulsivity and in hyperactivity, and such issues may compromise their wellbeing in school situations and capacity to learn.
