The Multi-Channel Technology, Chief Data Officer is a position within the Veterans Experience Office (VEO), Multi-Channel Technology Directorate. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Annual budgeting for field operations and related financial management
• Monthly reporting of variances to budget as well as investigations into underlying causes and development of potential options to remedy

• G&A management for HNT

Ad hoc analyses

• Act as financial thought leader to HNT leadership by developing business case/ROI, tracking performance of various initiatives, and shaping outcomes
• Work with project teams to provide financial decision support
• Support contract negotiations for our primary suppliers of home medical supplies in conjunction with our enterprise procurement team
• Craft ad hoc analyses for senior management

Team Leadership

• Accountable for up to 4 teammates at the analyst and manager levels, based on experience level

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Minimum 8 years of work experience in corporate FP&A, corporate strategy, investment banking, management consulting, and/or other comparable field
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience working with large datasets required; prefer experience working with Hyperion Essbase, SQL, Anaplan, but not required

The Opportunity
Our location in Alameda, California has an opportunity for a Director of Strategic Data Analytics. This position will oversee the data strategy, insights, and storytelling across the customer journey and marketing touchpoints, initiatives, and enterprise objectives. This individual will be responsible for looking end-to-end across our data ecosystem, enabling new capabilities, & managing ongoing operations. What You'll Work On
•    Leverage secondary data, and custom analysis of publicly available information to be the source of truth for CGM market size and competitor share estimates.
•    Provide expertise on key market and category trends, including impacts to our business that will guide key strategic decisions.
•    Assess brand health and marketing tactics via objective quantitative research, analytics, & in-market tests (e.g. A/B) to help determine the effectiveness of marketing programs. Leverage findings and trends to find opportunities and make recommendations to the business and the marketing leaders.
•    Develop global best practices for campaign and brand health KPI measurement across channels and the customer journey.  Influence its adoption across the organization and ongoing use.
•    Democratize our data by building a web-based data catalog and guiding data governance – working with other functions to unify disparate information into a single source of truth for our customer.
•    Hire and manage a Sr. Manager of Data Science to begin piloting use cases on analytics beyond the bounds of our existing primary research, starting with Marketing Mix Modeling and ultimately working to shift to more First Party data analytics vs. survey ask and answer. 
•    Define and implement consistent measurement standards / reporting, leverage data to inform business decisions, and make recommendations for improvement in analytics and tools.
•    Translate business problems into scalable and sustainable data and analytical solutions.

Director, Business Development

This teammate will need be accountable for a portfolio across Northern California to Alaska.

Our Business Development “Team Pegasus” partners with Operations and other teams to build and execute growth plans in assigned geographic markets and in addition, identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities for innovative relationships and leads successful expansion of existing relationship. As the Director, Business Development you will direct strategic new business and ensures existing and incremental priority hospital, health system and accountable provider relationships are maintained. In this role, you work with Health Systems, Hospitals, and Accountable Care Organizations in collaboration with DaVita internal teams, to develop Value-Based Care and core kidney care relationships. Relationships built and maintained include, but not limited to: kidney disease management, care coordination (CKD through ESKD), development of new dialysis centers, joint venture partnerships, acquisitions, post-acute services, acute dialysis, and discharge planning services.

This role, reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, is based remotely but the ideal candidate is based within proximity of the market comprised in Northern California.  Additionally, requires >30-50% of time externally with partners and internal team meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development – serve as regional development executive within a $1+B operating group. Lead initiatives that drive long-term growth as part of division senior leadership team and Develop lines of business that enhance DaVita’s service offerings.
• Strategy – partner with Hospital division leadership team to analyze market trends and identify opportunities/threats. Develop plans for division to achieve Company’s objectives related to revenue, EBITDA, capital, presence, and other key measures.
• Transactions – source, develop, and negotiate complex renal partnerships with Hospitals, Systems, and Accountable Providers. Examples include Medical Director Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Operating Agreements, Hospital Services Agreements, and Value-Based Care Agreements.
• Collaboration – lead cross-functional virtual teams. Develop strong relationships with external and internal customers. Teams and resources may include Operations, Strategy, Finance, M&A, Legal, Hospital Services, Payor Contracts, Integrated Care, other.
• Partner Relationships – develop, manage, and/or track executive relationships with Hospitals, Systems, Accountable Providers and related stakeholders including, but not limited to employed Physician practices, assist with DaVita’s partner selection process for strategic opportunities.
• Value-Based Care – assist teams responsible for negotiating and implementing Value-Based Care agreements with the government and commercial Payors.  Build local relationships, assess Payor integrated care readiness, and qualify fit with DaVita.
• Deliverables – manage key deliverables. Prepare and deliver executive presentations to senior leadership teams within Company and at external partners.
• Reporting – update Salesforce.com and other internal tools. Provide timely status on accounts, opportunities and other growth initiatives within division.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education. Bachelor's degree required, MBA, MPH or relevant graduate degree preferred
• Healthcare Experience. Significant work experience in the healthcare industry with a Health System, Payor or provider; knowledge of industry dynamics (e.g., cost, quality, reimbursement, physician practice management, and risk-sharing).
  • Experience in development of new medical facilities, physician practice management, or ambulatory surgical center development preferred.
  • If no Payor or provider experience, then other relevant experience (e.g., management consulting, private equity, investment banking, and pharmaceutical/device).
• Development Experience. 5+ years of transaction experience in Corporate Development (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, other partnerships). Significant experience in influential leading teams to execute all aspects of transactions including planning, analysis, proposal development, negotiation, execution, and integration.   
• Strategy & Planning. Demonstrated experience analyzing markets, partners, and competitors to develop 3-5-year growth strategies and plans. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor. Collaborate closely with Operations and Strategy to prioritize and maintain focus on highest-value opportunities.
• Relationship Management. Passion for building trusted-advisor relationships with partners to create tangible results. Genuine interest in bringing high-quality care to more patients by aligning DaVita growth strategies with partner strategic objectives. Partners may include nephrologists, medical groups, health systems/hospitals, and health plans.
• Opportunity Management. Ability to structure and manage complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels. Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams, with proven success over a wide variety of business opportunities.
