• The post holder will support the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation of the annual capital programme. This will include liaising with all capital programme managers and budget holders, review of all capital bids and prioritisations and challenging those bids where appropriate and providing budget recommendations.
• The post holder is responsible for analysing capital expenditure ensuring adherence to Trust policy and the relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• The post holder will work with the responsible directorate/support service and the capital budget holder to determine the performance of current capital schemes and in the case of any problems being highlighted, suggest and implement plans to rectify the situation. This will include the explanation of the complex NHS capital financial regime to both NHS and non-NHS managers.
