Your New Role

• Supporting children aged 6 - 18 with emotional behaviour disorder and/or complex needs in one of 3 active services in Cardiff
• To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
• Ensuring an inclusive and fair environment for a diversity of backgrounds/ situations/ abilities
• Adhering to personal care plans which have been drawn up after assessing needs and goals of the placement
• Adhering to strict health and safety practice to ensure the wellbeing of the children and young people
• Building rapport and empowering the children and young people to reach their potential
• Building rapport and good relationships with the families
• Produce and maintain accurate record keeping in accordance with GDPR
• Adopting a child-centred approach to provide the best care to children and young people with complex health / emotional needs
• Carry out elements of personal care if required

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Child-centred approach to care
• Positive attitude to care
• Previous experience within children's social care or transferrable skill role is desirable
• Full UK driver's license
• NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care is desirable, but you do have the option to work towards it
• Basic understanding of children's human rights and safeguarding is essential
• Experience working within a multi-agency environment is desirable
• Self-motivation and determination to grow and succeed together
• Enhanced DBS check (Update Service DBS' desirable for swifter onboarding)

Job Role:

As a Refrigeration field service engineer, you will be tasked for carrying out maintenance and servicing on commercial sites in and around the Southeast of Wales

Typical Duties will involve:

• Remotely carrying out repairs and maintenance of all equipment on site, Providing preventative maintenance and reactive service breakdowns
• Complete detailed service reports in a timely manner and Complete site survey repots as requested by the service desk
• Comply with F- Gas legislation when repairing equipment and leak testing.
• Working with food equipment such as, blast chillers, refrigeration plants, compressors etc.
• EH&S Complaint

Desirable experience

• F - Gas (Essential)
• 5 years experience preferred within the retail and industrial sector
• Co2 Experience
• NVQ Level 2 Refrigeration & Air- conditioning
• Hydrocarbon qualification
• Must have a UK Driving Licence
• Distribution refrigeration experience beneficial

We work aim to work in a psychologically informed and trauma informed framework, supporting up to 106 young people experiencing homelessness, at any one time. We aim to deliver a ‘zero evictions’ approach offering empathy, compassion and understanding. We help young people to gain confidence, life skills and positively move onto independent living.
Key Responsibilities:

To lead a team supporting young people living across multiple sites in Cardiff
To oversee an engaging programme of meaningful activities to provide structure and purpose for young people
To enhance key local partnerships and deliver quality progress reporting to our Young Peoples Contract Manager and other internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to:

Provide management, leadership and inspiration to our team, playing a lead role in recruitment and development of staff.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of compliance and young people’s safeguarding with additional knowledge of homelessness legislation.
Exercise the principles of good financial stewardship
