We are seeking an experienced SEN Nanny/Support Worker to support our client, a lovely 3-year-old boy who has cerebral palsy, living in Dorset.

Our client does not have complex medical needs but is affected with his physical function by his disability, therefore we are seeking an enthusiastic and positive person to support him with day-to-day life.

Our client uses a wheelchair and other mobility aids to help him in everyday life. He has regular therapists at his home, which he has recently moved in to with his mum and dad.

There will be opportunities to have autonomy in deciding activities and outings to take him on. He enjoys going to local parks, walks and the local beach. The beach is within walking distance of their home and he enjoys splashing in the sea.

This is a friendly family environment, where the parents are excited about welcoming the right candidate into their home to help with the care of our client.

Working hours: 32 hours per week

There are additional hours available for evenings and full weekends for the right candidate. There are live-in options and hours can be split among more than one candidate. Support staff have access to their own kitchen/living area, which is adjacent to O’s bedroom and private from the rest of the household.

Rates of pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour Monday-Friday, £20.00-£24.00 per hour weekends dependent on experience.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
