What does a live-in carer do?
As a professional live-in carer in the South West of England, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. Duties include daily activities, personal care, condition management, and household tasks. You’ll typically work an average of 8–10 hours per day, with daily rates based on hours worked.

About you:
You’ll be someone who’s happy to talk, laugh and enjoy time with our clients, assisting them in their activities and encouraging them to live life to the full.

Based at Spithead Resource Centre, Montgomerie Road, Room One is Portsmouth's autism hub, supporting autistic and neurodivergent adults 18+, in the PO1 - PO6 area. It works primarily on a peer led model, offering peer mentoring, peer support, signposting and providing advice and guidance. Room One does not require a diagnosis to access the service. As it is a peer led service, lived experience of neurodivergence is required, but a formal diagnosis is not required.

Your New Role

Working as part of a small team supporting autistic and neurodivergent adults, you will have a good knowledge of the issues impacting autistic and neurodivergent adults. You will lead peer mentoring session on a 1:1 basis and facilitate groups either on focused topics or ad-hoc discussions as well as provide support in the community in a variety of settings. You will liaise with other services to ensure adequate knowledge of what is available in the local community as well as representing Room One at public events, forums and meetings.

You will be expected to follow and deliver structured session plans and record details of session outcomes for the service users; raising and discussing any concerns identified during sessions with relevant senior staff. You will have experience equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or above in Social Care and will undertake the Care Certificate and specific qualifications made available that are essential to this post. The Service:

Children's Social Care provides social work interventions to children in need (including children with disabilities and those subject to protection plans) and children looked after and care experienced young people. Your New Role:

You will oversee, manage, and have responsibility for the Children's Adoption team, the Kinship team, the Fostering Recruitment team and the Fostering Panel, as well as Private Fostering and collaboration with Adopt South. You will lead a service of team leaders, social workers, and other staff, and ensure the efficient running of the service. You will ensure all statutory requirements are met and delivered to a high standard, and lead quality assurance activity including service audits and regulatory inspections. You will ensure all team requirements are met regarding workforce development, performance management, supervision and appraisal, compliance with statutory guidance and local policies and procedures, quality improvements, and budget management. You will work creatively and autonomously, and promote a restorative, strengths-based approach to work. As Service Leader for Permanence & Fostering Recruitment you will work closely with the Service Leader for Fostering Support & Home Finding Team, providing support and cover for each other when necessary.

You have a recognised professional qualification in social work (Social Work Diploma/Degree/MSc or equivalent) and are registered with Social Work England. You have substantial post-qualification experience in social work with children and families, including management experience at least at a team leader/manager level. • Serves as a senior expert Acquisition Project Manager and concurrently independently leads and manages multiple highly complex and high-dollar value ($500M+) acquisitions from acquisition initiation through contract or Task Order award providing technical advice to the client, contractors, and Acquisition Procurement Center of Excellence (APEX) regarding pre-award strategies and activities. Domestic Gas Service Engineers required for large organisation with contracts in the Portsmouth area. The suitable gas engineers must hold current ACS certificates, full UK driving licence, PL insurance and analyser a van with no signage. The expectation is to complete around 7-8 services per day but evening or Saturday work is available. It's a unique setup with a robust system to ensure access and no carding. Lots of work with an ongoing contract all in the PO area. The work is well organised through an established team that have worked the contract for over 10 years. Service engineers offering 3 plus days per week could also be considered.

Supervisors are available to support where required and on the job training is provided with a full week of shadowing at the start if required.
