About The Role

As a Receptionist you will be the friendly face of the HC-One Care Home, responsible for meeting and greeting all visitors including new enquirers, friends and family members of residents, health & social care professionals and members of the local community. You will be responsible for dealing with all types of enquiries and as the first point of contact for our customers, you will provide advice and support both face to face and over the telephone.
When joining HC-One you will support the Home Manager and Administrator in clerical duties, maintaining accurate filing whilst working to deadlines. With responsibility for ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed in a timely manner, you will be expected to use your initiative and will be happy working independently.

About You
HC-One are looking for someone who has worked as a receptionist before and so understands how important first impressions are. You will also have experience in giving excellent customer service and have a professional and friendly manner over the telephone and face to face.

Duties and responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the following:

1. Technically proficient in initiating, performing and completing assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations including hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, congestive heart failure and other chronic diseases in addition to limited dermatology care..
2. Knowledge and ability to appropriately carry out assigned patient care based on the patients' conditions; to use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments; and to accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient information. As a senior, you’ll be on hand to provide advice and guidance to the team where needed, and we’ll ask you to take care of a small amount of our more complex cases.



We’ll need your excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with referral agencies and stakeholders. You’ll also be responsible for developing high-quality practice among the team through observing and auditing practice, and then providing coaching and mentoring workshops to enable them to develop.



Our successful candidate will ideally already have knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation or experience working within the criminal justice sector.

We are Eden Futures, and we deliver exceptional support services for people aged 18 and over who have learning disabilities, autism, mental ill health and associated complex needs.

Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm

We will have the facility to conduct interviews on the day. Please bring ID documents such as valid photo ID, proof of address and reference details for your previous employment / education.

*Roles are paid at an hourly rate of between £11.44 - £12.00. The salary shown is as a per annum equivalent for information only and based on 42 hours per week. NLW applies and will be pro rata'd based on contracted hours.

Shifts can vary across Days, Nights and Weekends, offering you the flexibility to work around commitments you may already have.

Successful candidates will be required to have an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing employment.

When you first join Eden Futures, you will be paid for completing a comprehensive Induction Programme involving face-to-face training, e-learning and shadowing experienced members of your team.

It’s a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with vulnerable adults.

Main Responsibilities

• Support service users to lead a full and active life in line with their wishes and choices, considering their assessed needs and individual support and care plans, participating in the development of plans where applicable
• Support individuals to stay safe, taking appropriate action to safeguard their welfare and protect them from abuse wherever possible
• Provide emotional support when needed, maintaining a person-centred approach
• Support service users to participate in chosen social activities and services in their community, manage their finances and medication responsibly, help with practical tasks around the home, and respectfully support with personal care, hygiene and healthcare
• You will be an informal point of contact for those in the service users circle of support (e.g. Families and Social Workers)
• Accurately report and record any issues related to the care and support of our Service Users to monitor their health and wellbeing
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and have regard for the Health, Safety and Welfare of others
• Form appropriate relationships with those we care for and maintain professional boundaries in work.
• Work within organisational policies, procedures and guidance.
• Committed to demonstrating the organisations values and behaviours in their work.

• Caring and compassionate, having a genuine passion for wanting to help our service users lead a full and active life to enable them to achieve as much independence as possible
• We understand that not everyone has experience of working in the care sector, and that’s why we recruit individuals based on their values
• Ability to remain positive when there are challenging days - you have the chance to positively influence how someone feels and that is no small thing
• You'll enjoy working as part of team as well as using your own initiative, and have a willingness to support your colleagues when needed
