What You’ll Get to Do:
As a CACI-SOAS Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Expert, you will support the US Army North G5 Future of Homeland Defense Project (HDP) in solving future problems confronting the nation out to the year 2040. US Army North (ARNORTH) requires expertise on an iterative basis to support the future HDP which incorporates inputs and collaborative efforts from USARNORTH staff, US Special Operations Command - North, United States Special Operations Command, Army Futures Command (AFC), HQDA, Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, TRADOC, Intelligence Community, and subject matter experts (SME) from academia and private industry.
More About this Role:
This is a part-time on-call position requires a minimum of one week each month to participate in the ARNORTH HDP Design Workshop on Fort Sam Houston, TX for the purpose of collaborating with other SMEs. As the AI/ML Expert, you will work with other SMEs on the ARNORTH Design Workshop panel to provide expert advice and guidance to clients, leadership, and VIPs. You will be an expert who has a wide variety of expertise to include programming languages, data engineering, exploratory data analysis, models, services, deploying, and security. Additionally, you will have a deep understanding of neural networking, deep learning, supervised and unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning concepts. You will be responsible for the writing and submitting White Papers on AI/ML as well as other related topics confronting homeland defense.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Current Secret Clearance with eligibility to obtain TS is required.
Minimum of master’s degree and 10 years of relevant work experience.
Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role.
Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture.
Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms. Ability to write robust code in Python, Java and R. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn).
Excellent communication skills Ability to work in a team. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of portals and other real or near real time knowledge management systems.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
Experience supporting the US Army or the Department of Defense requirements.
Must be able to work independently with limited government oversight and function effectively as part of a team in a joint working environment.

$118,700 - $261,100
