UH Lakewood Medical Center is located between Kansas City and Lee’s Summit, Missouri, offering residents of Eastern Jackson County access to a modern community hospital with a continuum of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of families. Under the direction of the Administrator, Support Services, develops and maintains the quality assessment and improvement programs for the programs/department within the scope of the Administrator, Support Services. (Environmental Services, Patient Transportation, Parking, etc.) Develops and conducts staff education to include supervisory and management development and training activities. Executes responsibilities based on objectives, guidelines, and hospital philosophy. Work is performed independently, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative and reviewed by the upper management. May be called upon to assist in administrative duties of the departments including but not limited to, payroll, phone support, dispatching, etc. Maintaining current knowledge on all applicable regulatory guidelines, infection control guidelines, and evolving industry trends. Supervises the work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of Truman Medical Centers. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities with respect to the overall system operations. Assists in hiring, training, evaluation review, disciplinary actions and terminations of staff.
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent in education and experience
- Three plus years experience of healthcare or institutional Environmental Service supervisory or management experience.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, keyboard and other computer hardware and software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. High degree of professionalism presence. Commitment to and role model of a high service orientation
- Demonstrated self-starter with skills in facilitating problem solving, motivating individuals and groups, and teaching/coaching others.
- Experience working with all levels of staff and management, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Excellent organizational skills
