The RA ideally would have familiarity with literature reviews methods, specifically scoping review methods (Joanna Briggs Institute). The role requires reliable internet and computer technology abilities as well as knowledge data analysis, although those can be learned during the employment. Post-secondary or equivalent educational or research attainments are preferred. Experience or interest involving breast cancer and cancer survivorship related projects are considered an asset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will involve assisting with all areas of research including:

• Screening all retrieved references on Covidence

• Extract data in an excel file

• Qualitative analysis and report

• Engagement with research team meetings

• Other research activities that may evolve from the review results

• Assisting in the generation of various documents and reports and provide input where appropriate

• Knowledge dissemination activities and publications

• Undergoing or completed bachelor's degree in health science preferred and/or master degree. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preference will be given to students at Brock University

• Previous experience with systematic reviews, scoping reviews or metanalysis; as well as breast cancer and cancer survivorship care.

CRIM 3P97 - LIBERTIES, RIGHTS AND PROTECTIONS

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2023 - $7,253.48 per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2023 - $14,506.95 per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

• PhD in Sociology, Critical Criminology or closely related discipline with demonstrated university training in the area of liberties, rights and protections.
• Specialization in sociological perspectives on liberties, rights and protections.
• Demonstrated successful university teaching experience in sociological perspectives on liberties, rights and protections.
• Demonstrated research on sociological approaches to liberties, rights and protections.
• Demonstrated success with online teaching in a university setting.
