About the role as a Specialist Assessor:Activate Learning are now looking to recruit a highly organised and methodical Specialist Teacher/Assessor to join the Group Learning Support, based at our Banbury and Bicester College campus.Group Learning Support works with young people who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs and those with an EHCP. This post provides an excellent opportunity for someone with passion and drive who is committed to working with our students, assessing their learning needs and providing the support needed to ensure that they can achieve.Responsibilities include:Completing the psychometric assessments required and the associated paperwork for the purpose of exam access arrangements to meet JCQ and awarding body requirements and identification of specific learning difficultiesCompleting any full diagnostic assessments required for the identification of specific learning difficultiesPlanning and delivery of study support to learners with specific barriers to learning as requiredContributing to the professional development of staff through the delivery of CPD and sharing good practiceOur Group Learning Support team offer a friendly and supportive working environment, where no two days are the same, staff are valued and CPD is provided.The is a full-time, fixed term contract until January 2025 based at our Banbury and Bicester campus.What do you need to be a successful Specialist Teacher/Assessor at Activate Learning?The ideal candidate will have a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) issued by Patoss, the Dyslexia Guild or the British Dyslexia Association; and / or a post-graduate Level 7 qualification in specialist assessment, which must include training in the theoretical basis underlying psychometric tests and the use, selection and administration of nationally standardised tests.You will also have an appropriate qualification to teach and make recommendations for secondary aged or adult learners who have learning difficulties or be a HCPC registered psychologist.Applications from those willing to undertake and gain these qualifications will be considered.Strong team values, a desire to innovate within the learning experience and the ability to adapt flexibly to the changing needs of learners are essential. You will possess experience of SEND, study skills support and teaching numeracy and literacy, along with the ability communicate with learners from varied backgrounds and of different abilities.
