About the role as a ASC Learning Support Assistant:We are looking for dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistants to join our ASC Centre team at Bracknell and Wokingham College.The successful applicants will be supporting students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses which are designed for those with Autism and associated difficulties or supporting students to access their course. These courses are from Foundation Level 1 courses to Level 3 courses. There will be an expectation to support in all areas.You will be responsible for facilitating individual learning programmes, providing support to our learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres. You will be required to facilitate the students learning using creative and purposeful lesson planning in collaboration with the ASC Coordinators to meet the needs of the learners. You may also be required to support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.Personal care can form part of the duties included in this role and training will be provided.This role is full time (35 hours per week), permanent, term time only starting August 2024. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part time hours providing you can commit to our working patterns and timetables. Our centre opening hours is between 8.30am - 4.30pm. (Term time only salary calculator - your pay will be based on your working hours per week, multiplied by the number of weeks worked, plus 6 weeks holiday and will be spread equally over 12 months).What do you need to be a successful Learning Support Assistant at Activate Learning?This is a challenging role that requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience.You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties. You will have good communication skills to be able to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team.
