More detail about the role As a Senior Research Nurse/Practitioner you will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the clinical requirements associated with research to ensure optimum delivery of clinical trials. You will ensure that all research procedures are conducted according to study protocols and will be accountable for the recruitment, data collection and care of research participants with a focus on providing a quality experience. When working on research projects the post holder will be responsible for the care of study participants, ensure protocols are complied with, safety is maintained and observe for side effects during the course of the study. An important aspect of the role will be the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research projects. The post holder is responsible for ensuring research projects are conducted in accordance with the UK Policy Framework for Framework for Health and Social Care, the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Amended Regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and other regulatory standards as appropriate to provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of research participants are protected. In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will facilitate the production of good quality research. We are looking for a new team member to appoint to a Band 6 Senior Research Nurse/ Practitioner in Rosemoor Research Delivery Team based at North Devon District Hospital. You will need to have proven research delivery experience, be prepared to plan, implement, organise and manage concurrent research projects. You must have proven IT skills and be competent in data management. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of and have experience in research study management, including pipeline, expressions of interest, feasibility, setup, costing, recruitment & retention and strategies for meeting study metrics. You will develop networks with Multidisciplinary Teams across the Trust and other appropriate local and national agencies. You will coordinate and manage the relevant study portfolio and deliver recruitment accrual in line with performance and monitoring objectives. We seek a resourceful, organised and flexible team player with an eye for detail and exceptional communication skills, who shares our passion for delivering multi-speciality quality research for our patients, in the acute hospital setting as well as the community and patients homes. The post requires a proportion of line management- act as a role model, provide team planning and understand HR roles and responsibilities and deputise for the Team Lead as appropriate. A developmental post may be considered to support development to a Band 6. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 with some flexibility according to service needs.
