The Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) team sits in the Regional Chief Operating Officer Directorate for the North East & Yorkshire Region and will work closely with national, regional, and local teams to support the delivery of all the NHS statutory responsibilities as articulated in the Civil Contingencies Act.

The team will deliver this function in the context of the regional team’s ambitious programme of work set out in the annual operational plans and The Long-Term Plan for the NHS over the next five to ten years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a focussed and dynamic team delivering improved system Resilience to patients, staff and communities across the NHS in North East and Yorkshire.

The successful applicant will be able to work independently and as part of an internal team and with wider multi agency partners.

This role is suited to an individual who is able to work autonomously using their clinical skills as an integral part of the day to day work to influence the resilience agenda and design, deliver and evaluate high quality Training and Exercising for NHS Commanders and other staff to ensure compliance with appropriate occupational standards. Applicants are required to hold a minimum of a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent.

The successful candidate will work as part of a triumvirate with the other two Heads (Associate Director) of EPRR to meet the statutory duties of NHS England ( North East and Yorkshire) under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, Health and Social Care Act and associated legislation.

The post will support lead roles on portfolio areas as agreed with the team and where appropriate take a lead for geographical work and incident management.

Work closely across the evolving NHS landscape with ICBs, NHS Providers of commissioned Care and external partners to ensure the delivery of effective emergency preparedness, resilience and response is maintained.

Ensure that national EPRR strategy and policies are formulated and understood by all stakeholders and are efficiently and effectively delivered utilising all available resources.

Develop, manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

Oversee the regional teams compliance with the required training and exercising requirements, including development, implementation and governance for all Training & Exercising delivered in region

Proactively identify and manage key emerging or increasing risks for the NHS in North East and Yorkshire, including those from recent experiences, such as cyber-attacks and terrorism.

We are recruiting a Senior Strategy Manager to join NHS England’s Strategy Team, which sits within the Strategy Directorate. You would join our team at a critical and exciting time as we continue to support the NHS to tackle some of its biggest complex and important issues.

· managing teams, resources and relationships with senior stakeholders 

· providing support and thought leadership to the strategy team as a whole, supporting team and corporate development activities as a member of the extended leadership team.

Salary Progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8d with a full-time starting salary of £83,571 with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service.

For posts based in Inner London, the above salaries will include the additional supplement of 20% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £5,132 per annum and a maximum payment of £7,746 per annum.

This is offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and is based on office location.
