About the Mentoring role:     
Hourly Rate: £20 per hour, PAYE.  
Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole  
Days required: 5 days per week- Monday to Friday (Term time only)  
Flexible working hours: Between 9:00 and 16:30  
Age Group: Key Stage 1-4    
Provision: SEN/ SEND/ SEMH/ Behavioural/ Medical     
  
As an outreach youth worker, you will be responsible for offering a range of support to Primary/ Secondary students, from a few hours to multiple sessions per week, during school hours.    
  
We are seeking individuals who share our passion for making a difference in the lives of young people by building a rapport with the young people to gain a good perspective of their day-today experience and support them engaging in positive activities.  You will be required to take the young person out into the community, build on their self- confidence, self - esteem, supporting with life and social skills. Support to reintegrate them back into an education setting.    
  
Provision is usually held at residential or within a community venue subjecting on the needs of the young person.  Engaging successfully with challenging young people, for example children who have complex needs, are reluctant to discuss their needs, and are unable to regulate and process their feelings.    
 
Key Responsibilities: 
- Offer a listening ear and provide emotional support to young people, helping them navigate difficult situations, such as family challenges, peer pressure, mental health issues, or academic stress. 
- Help young people develop key life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, time management, goal-setting, and communication. 
- Foster self-esteem and self-worth by offering encouragement and helping them identify their strengths and talents. 
- Lead by example, demonstrating positive behaviours, values, and attitudes that young people can emulate 
  
To be eligible for this role you must have the following:      
- Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour/ complex needs. A compassionate, patient, and proactive attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs. 
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team. 
- A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the individual needs of each student.  
- Have a good understanding of managing/mentoring young people.  
- Minimum 2 years' experience   
- Enhanced DBS on the update system or willing to apply for a new DBS if required.  
- Hold right to work in the UK.  
- Business Insurance (Preferrable)
