The Infectious Disease and Epidemiology Research group in the School of Clinical and Experimental Sciences wish to appoint two Research Facilitators to help support the technical aspects of research activities and to assist with the day to day running of research studies undertaken by the group. The research group is based within the Faculty of Medicine at Southampton General Hospital.

Our group is undertaking a number of projects looking at the epidemiology of respiratory pathogens. Applications are invited from those with relevant experience of laboratory based microbiology and experience of research governance. Experience of bacterial identification is desirable. These posts are full-time but consideration will be given to those who wish to work part-time. Applicants must be available to work with some flexibility.

What the school offers its staff

In June 2022 we were once more awarded as Platinum Investors in People School placing us in the top 1% of employers nationally. The following comments are from our 2019 and 2022 reports, and they sum up what it is like to work in our community:

In line with Department for Education guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022, we are required to carry out an online search on all shortlisted candidates.
