You will be trained to use technology to support you with 1:1 and small group sessions, either face to face or online. As part of our continued growth, Underley Garden seeks an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor who can inspire pupils and young people with complex learning through a highly personalised curriculum. Our pupils and young people need engaging, creative, practical learning and so delivering staff need the ability to thrive in a flexible curriculum structure and fully utilise our fantastic facilities to offer personalised programmes.

Purpose of Job

This key function of this role is to cover teacher and teaching assistant absence across the school. There will be an expectation to deliver and support planning of lessons in the case of sickness, as well as providing pastoral support where necessary. When we do not require cover for teachers, you will be required to cover breaks and completing tasks at the SLT’s discretion. There is also the responsibility of Exams Officer attached to this role.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

The supervisor will be responsible for:

delivering lessons to cover teacher absence
supporting in classes across the school to cover teaching assistant absence
liaising with teaching staff with regard to work set for a class;
managing the behaviour of students to ensure a safe and inspiring learning environment
collecting any completed work and resources after the lesson and returning them to the appropriate teacher or subject lead
to work alongside teacher and teaching assistants to ensure a positive environment for all pupils
to be able to plan lessons if and when required
to take on the role of Exams Officer for our small cohort of young people

As a Teaching Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has a diagnosis of Autism and may have additional needs. They have so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys bespoke to them.

You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

Every day will be different, but you will have all the support you need, with lots of skills and experience to draw on along with valuable advice and guidance too.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for passionate staff who want to support pupils with a variety of complex needs such as Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Non-Verbal and Pre-Verbal and Communicational difficulties and more. You will be required as a part of your role to undertake personal care duties to support our students.

We would love to hear from candidates who have their GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths, but you don’t need any experience to join our team. If you come from hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres or an office-based job but are eager to help vulnerable pupils and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.

As an Area Business Consultant, you'll interact with potential and existing clients to create new business chances across different sectors. This includes getting learners involved in our full range of Apprenticeship programs, funded training, or commercial training. You'll collaborate closely with your local team to meet enrolment goals and represent HIT Training Ltd at local events.

The role will include working from home, travelling to client sites and networking opportunities in your local area.

Duties will include:


Actively prospecting and identifying new business leads.
Researching potential clients and new business opportunities within your region.
Networking with local partners and clients to uncover new business opportunities.
Travelling to meet potential clients and partners to explore new business prospects.
Setting up and leading meetings and presentations to convert potential clients.
Tracking and managing new business opportunities using our CRM system.
Collaborating with the local team to prioritise new business generation and support enrollment targets.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new clients.
Achieving or surpassing monthly new business targets through proactive outreach.
Coordinating with area managers and internal teams to advance new business leads.

About you

We’re seeking proactive, confident individuals with the following skills and experience:


Previous experience in a business development role.
Experience of new business development and lead generation.
