We are looking for a Research Associate (RA) who will develop computational electromagnetics codes for rapid characterization and optimization of artificial metasurfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the Research Associate are

• Developing 2D/3D integral equation / boundary element method-based codes.
• Accelerating these codes with matrix/tensor decomposition-based and/or fast Fourier transform-based schemes.
• Implementing local/global optimization algorithms and performing synthesis of the metasurface parameters for given far-field constraints.
• Adopting the developed codes for 3D unit-cell synthesis.

Job Requirements:

• MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• Experience in code development for integral equation/boundary element methods (preferred)
• Experience in optimization algorithms (preferred)
• A publication record
• High academic credentials from a reputable institution
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Fortran
• Good written and oral communication skills

The School of Social Sciences (Psychology) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.

The Research Fellow will be a key member of a 2-year project on understanding the experiences of low wage workers in the pursuit of lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting literature review related to the research project
• Assisting with the data collection
• Compiling, processing, and analyzing the quantitative and qualitative data collected
• Supporting the preparation of presentation, progress and final reports, and manuscripts related to the projects

Job Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Applied Psychology, Education or related fields
• Good research, communication, and management skills, as well as the ability to work independently are a must.
• Experience in empirical research, particularly research design, empirical methodologies, and scholastic writing of journal articles.

• Proficient in software such as R, SPSS, Mplus

Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join Associate Professor Xia Kelin's team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. The project focuses on developing topological data analysis (TDA) techniques, such as persistent homology, and applying these methods to real-world data, including biomolecular datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of topological data analysis (TDA) techniques such as persistent homology, with application in real data sets such as biomolecular data and network data
• Perform data preprocessing, feature extraction, and analysis on large datasets
• Preparation of research papers, reports, and presentations to disseminate findings
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall progress of the project

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics or related areas, with a strong background in topological data analysis (TDA) and machine learning on biomolecular data
• Experience with biomolecular data, particularly protein, DNA, and RNA data, knowledge of structural biology and protein modeling preferred
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
• Previous research experience and publication record in a related field preferred
