The Role:

-Incorporating a friendly, calm and approachable nature with the ability to act quickly and effectively at all times.

-Ensuring the upmost safety of our members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for your own personal safety and that of others.

-Consistently acting in a safe manner, knowing the importance of completing safety checks and recording them accurately.

-Monitoring water chemical water levels and cleaning the water when appropriate.

-Maintaining the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to the high standards of Virgin Active .

-Responsibility for compliance with all mandatory training and health and safety.

-Fulfilling Duty Shifts when required, therefore having responsibility and accountability during the shift, controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

Qualifications

-You do not currently hold a lifeguard qualification? No problem - we'll provide you with training and you'll receive a Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding over the course of 5 days.

Salary is based on 40 hours a week, made up of 32 Hours gym floor with 8 hours of PT sessions. As your client base grows, you will drop your gym floor hours to maximise your PT earning potential of up to £39,108.16OTE.

Whilst on probation all contracts will be a minimum of 24 gym floor hours, this is to ensure you earn a guaranteed minimum salary. Your earning will increase as you establish your PT clients and improve your earning potential.

PT sessions have a sliding scale, the more you deliver the more your take home earning potential is.

As the IPAF Trainer, you'll deliver IPAF and PASMA training to both internal and external customers daily. A great opportunity to join a vibrant and growing team.

You will need to have the IPAF instructor ticket to be considered to be an IPAF Trainer. Either:

• Registered IPAF Instructor Certificate

Responsibilities as the IPAF Trainer:

• Deliver training and development
• Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
• Evaluate training and development programmes
• Amend and revise programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
• Help the line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
• Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses
• Work is generally classroom based on training delivery, which take place in South London.

It is essential that you have a background of at least one year as an internal trainer in plant hire or tool hire and have knowledge of access, platforms, lifting equipment or specialist areas e.g. confined space or fall arrest. You may have other experience/qualifications with working at height.

As an advocate for this growing business, you will be well placed to sell additional courses or potentially gain further business from your existing client base. There is scope to develop within a group of companies and broaden your training knowledge.
