Staff SRE Engineer, Product Software
Job Summary
Equinix is seeking a SRE Staff Software Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the SRE and Dev-ops activities for a world-class product engineering team that’s paving the path for new ways for enterprises to consume ever-increasing cloud services.
Responsibilities
Architect, Design and Development
Develop and implement DevOps and SRE strategies to optimize the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle. Work with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) for scalable and resilient application deployment
Work with bigDATA technologies for scalable and resilient application deployment and monitoring
Responsible for delivering solutions that meet business objectives in alignment with architectural principles & guidelines
Participate in the design & peer code review process
Deploy and Operationalize
Design, build, manage and operate the infrastructure and configuration of SaaS applications with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery and deployment
Responsible for instrumenting observability using various IT monitoring and management tools like Cloudflare and AppDynamics
Responsible for solving and fixing production issues with SLA compliance
Collaboration
Work in a Globally Distributed Development team environment with minimal supervision
Actively collaborate with the Product Owner, Dev team members and peers across all the regions
Innovation
Evaluate, select, and integrate tools that enhance the development and operational processes, such as version control, build systems, and deployment tools
Responsible for Investigating, analyzing, and evaluating new technologies
Qualifications
Must have
Strong computer programming foundation with knowledge of Data Structures, Concurrency, Algorithms, Design Patterns, and Best Practices
2+ years of strong SRE and/or Devops work experience
Proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies - Docker, Kubernetes, Apigee Gateway
Experience using a public cloud like AWS, Azure, or GCP
A comprehensive grasp of coding and scripting in common languages, including Bash , Python, Perl, PHP, and Ruby
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Familiarity with at least one primary coding language like Java
Good knowledge of continuous integration, and deployment processes
Nice to have
Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL such as Redis, MongoDB and/or Cassandra
Experience with BigData technologies (e.g. Flink , Kafka )
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Basic skills in enterprise Java technology stack including Spring Boot, JPA/Spring Data, REST APIs, Swagger, maven, JUnit, and stress testing tools such as JMeter/Load Runner.
Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum
