The role
As a VDI Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will join an established, but ever-growing team at an exciting time within our Corporate Services Function.
Day to day, you'll manage and maintain the group wide Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop (CVAD) estate, encompassing life cycle of core CVAD infrastructure systems including testing, upgrades, installation, monitoring and reporting. As well as maintaining and monitoring the group wide VDI infrastructure, CVAD, PVS and NetScaler platforms. You will provide 24/7 on- call support for the VDI Services, Further responsibilities include:
- Application deployment, testing and support across multiple Citrix infrastructures and security zones
- Group Policy creation and maintenance
- Advanced troubleshooting fault diagnosis
- PowerShell scripting and administration
- Providing assistance to fellow CS members within the 1st and 2nd line teams
This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, you will be expected to be on-call one week out of four.
Essential experience of the VDI Engineer
- You will be able to demonstrate experience within a 2nd or 3rd line support role working withing a large estate with associated technologies in a BAU support and project capacity
- Must have a solid foundation in Microsoft technologies covering testing, documentation and installation through all troubleshooting aspects
- Understanding of future client technologies including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and Windows as a Service (WaaS)
- Experience in design, implementation, maintenance and disaster recovery for large environments
- Technical Knowledge of Citrix CVAD, Citrix Director, Storefront, PVS, Studio and Netscaler ADC
Qualifications for the VDI Engineer
- Being Microsoft Certified would be desirable
- Being a Citrix Certified Administrator CCA-V, CCP- or CCE-V would be desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
