We have a great opportunity for an experienced 2nd Line/ Senior IT Support Engineer who is looking for that next step to become a 3rd Line / Senior Infrastructure Engineer - this role can offer you training and development to support you as you learn more about Core Infrastructure at a senior level.
This is a permanent position, with hybrid working based out of Leatherhead 2 days a week, with occasional travel to a data centre.

Your new role
As the 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer, you will be joining the core IT team working closely with the Infrastructure Manager to support project work and BAU. The organisation is going through a period of change and transformation to upgrade their current IT estate, playing an active role in supporting the delivery of core infrastructure projects.
You will manage and maintain core infrastructure services including LAN, WAN, Server (virtual IaaS, PaaS, Telecoms platforms). A key focus of this role is ensuring the availability of Line of Business applications operating in the core infrastructure.
You will work across the whole infrastructure estate delivering levels of 2nd and 3rd line support ensuring issues are resolved in line with SLAs and delivering excellent customer service at all times.
What you will need to succeed
You will have a strong track record at 2nd line level, perhaps with some 3rd Line experience looking to take that next step up into an infrastructure role. You will have previous experience supporting complex environments in a mid-large sized organisation (ideally 2000+users, although this is not a deal-breaker) providing support across; Windows Server, Exchange, Virtualisation (VMWare or Hyper-V), Active Directory, O365. As well as networking knowledge: Wi-Fi, Firewalls, WAN/ LAN, NetApp (desirable), and WinTel experience.
You will have experience resolving technical issues involving core business applications as well as virtual environments.
As the 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer, you will be viewed as a leader by more junior members of the team, acting as a technical escalation point as well as taking ownership for managing and improving existing hardware and software solutions in line with business needs / the latest technology.
You will support the Infrastructure Manager with Disaster recovery plan changes/projects, working closely with the Infrastructure Engineers on maintaining systems, software user audits, procurement.
