Job Description: They are in search of a dedicated Site Engineer to join a dynamic team for a landmark smart motorways improvement project. As a key member of the site team, you will be instrumental in the successful execution and delivery of this £1bn project, leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive construction plans and schedules tailored to the specific requirements of the smart motorways improvements project.
- Take ownership of on-site construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Conduct frequent site inspections to meticulously monitor progress, identify potential challenges, and implement effective resolutions in real-time.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and site personnel, providing clear direction and guidance to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain meticulous project documentation, including detailed progress reports, site records, and accurate as-built drawings.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to facilitate timely procurement and delivery of critical materials and equipment.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost-efficiency enhancements to maximise project outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, coupled with a proven track record of success in civil construction projects.
- Extensive experience in the delivery of complex motorways or highways projects, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of smart motorways technology and associated systems.
- Proficiency in utilising advanced construction management software and tools such as AutoCAD, Primavera, and MS Project to effectively plan and manage project activities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations governing construction activities.
