The Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will provide discipline advice, guidance and support to the business on all matters related to the quality, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements in a timely manner.

Day-to-day, you'll be a customer quality focal point in the implementation of our ambitious growth plans as part of the Quality team and you will use your proven experience to promote quality throughout the project lifecycle and supply chain.

• Identify, plan and implement a program of activities, via a contract Quality Plan, to provide assurance to the project throughout the project lifecycle defined by the contract.
• Work with the cross-functional delivery team personnel, helping to achieve delivery milestones and ensuring a fit for purpose / quality product to the customer.
• Risk manage project activities, ensuring mitigation in the critical aspects of production and in the final product.
• Evaluate customer requirements against our product quality capabilities, and help translate into a suitable design / contract, and appropriate inspection and test plan.
• Carry out quality audits during the project lifecycle, ensuring process procedures followed and the product is being realised in the appropriate manner.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience of the Senior Quality Engineer

• Have a quality background in a related industry and be familiar with the qualities levels and disciplines required.
• Experience of implementing quality improvements and encouraging culture change within an organisation.
• Computer literate with good keyboard skills and understanding of Microsoft Office applications
• Will have an excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques, and be able to provide guidance to others in the use of them (e.g. Pareto, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, 5 why's, 8D).

Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer

• Degree (or equivalent) in quality, Science, or Engineering
• Work based apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Membership of a recognised quality institute (CQI would be desirable).
• ISO 9001 auditor.

• Have a proven track record of successful engineering Project / Programme delivery, knowledge of pave or surfacing engineering within multi-million-pound projects
• Responsible for delivering the engineering aspect of the project ‘road map’ and able to foresee issues and apply proactive problem solving techniques to overcome challenges, to remain on track to achieve key milestones / dates
• Provide management, guidance and direction to the wider Project Delivery Team and support the General Manager to ensure that all objectives, aims and targets are achieved
• Ensure that the team and business are fully compliant with all H&S, business policies, legal delivery requirements and procedures at all times for both our colleagues and contractors
• Lead, manage and develop the team, optimising engagement, and overall team performance
• Communication is key with colleagues, managers and contractors across the whole project to ensure all tasks are performed promptly, you must have the tact and diplomacy when dealing with tense situations that can arise at any moment during the project's life cycle
• Where contractual issues arise, support the project commercial manager to recover these costs from within the project

• Support all elements of the SQL Server data platforms as well as the Analytics (Snowflake) data platform
• Accountable for the design, implementation, capacity assessment and planning of all SQL and Snowflake environments applying an automation first approach to all tasks to avoid manual processes.

The role

As a Senior Concessions Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll provide technical liaison between the spares business and customer and supplier technical representatives.

Day to day, you'll lead, monitor and manage the spares engineering team, including specialist input as well as support the spares business manager to meet business targets; e.g. operational spend, enquiry/order turn-round time, quality assurance performance, growth targets, etc.

Key Duties:

• Undertake technical review and approval of all spares tenders before submission to customer, to ensure that all offers are technically compliant to customer requirements and are technically feasible.
• Undertake technical review and approval of concessions and non-conformance requests to ensure that appropriate engineering justification and substantiation are in place.
• Monitor engineering resources required to support the spares business; drive efficient delivery and advise spares and engineering functional management of developing resource requirements.
• Manage engineers and specialists from different technical disciplines to resolve issues.
• Lead engineering and quality assurance investigations into technical issues.
• Represent the engineering discipline at meetings, both internally within the spares management team and externally with suppliers or customers.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to the spares management team.
• Defining component specifications to meet customer requirements. This can include determining modern equivalent replacements to meet the key criteria of obsolete legacy systems

This role is full time, permanent and can be based at either of our Warrington, Bristol or Leicester sites.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met.

Essential experience of the Senior Concession Engineer:

• Broad knowledge of manufacturing engineering; tolerances, materials, surface treatments, manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to gather and interrogate information from various document management systems and databases.
• Desirable to have previous experience working with IBM Document Manager, Windream, Alchemy, AUTODESK Vault, Microsoft Dynamcis AX although not essential.
• Ability to plan and prioritise engineering resources to meet business requirements.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor would be desirable although not essential.
• Able to manage multiple independent tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing business priorities.
