The Role

As a Senior IT Infrastructure engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the build, configuration and deployment of bespoke communications solutions. Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Deploy configure and maintain scalable and secure IT infrastructure including servers, application servers, storage and virtualisation technologies.
Production of high quality LLD/Build documentation detailing configurations and processes.
Implement security best practices and protocols to protect the company's data and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and deploy solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements

As the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer you will have:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or another IT related field may be beneficial.
Proven relevant experience in a senior infrastructure engineering role.
Strong technical proficiency in deploying Dell VxRail architecture, features, and capabilities, including software-defined storage, virtualization, and compute resources.
Experience with VMware vSphere and vSAN technologies, including installation, configuration, and management.
Be competent in the configuration and deployment of a variety of windows servers/applications.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Ability to deploy and maintain scalable and secure database solutions using SQL server.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Assisting in the development of departmental processes, maintaining and improving on the ISO/IEC 20000 and ITIL levels of quality already achieved.
  
• Develop and implement measures for the proactive and reactive monitoring of services.
  
• Troubleshoot areas of poor performance and identify effective solutions for their remediation.
  

What are we looking for?

• Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Checkpoint CCSA, AWS certifications desirable
  
• Have SC clearance or not know of any reason why this can't be obtained? (EG must be a resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years)
  
• Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering services using the latest industry technologies, SDWAN, Secure Wireless networks, Cloud based migrations and network functionality into AWS and Azure.
  
• Project and /or Programme Management experience
  
• Practical experience of implementing and employing the principles of ITIL Service Management framework and its complementary quality standard ISO/IEC 20000.
  
• First-hand experience of working in a SOX compliant and ISO/IEC 20000 accredited organisation or function.
  
• Working under pressure, being able to deal with several problems simultaneously, and maintaining a focus on team performance and targets
  
• 3rd line IT networking support and knowledge of Cisco routers, Cisco switches / DNA, ISE, Checkpoint, WiFi / Meraki, IPT and cloud based networking
  
• Driving licence - would be beneficial as some site visits are required.
