On a retained and exclusive basis, Hays Engineering is delighted to be partnering with Lenzing in Grimsby to appoint their Mechanical Engineer, due to internal promotion.
The new appointment will provide mechanical engineering leadership and technical delivery for the Grimsby site. They will promote and ensure all engineering maintenance activities are conducted to the correct site, national and international standards, and that the assets and equipment are achieving business objectives and KPI's. They will be accountable for the efficient operation of the work planning system for both weekly and shutdown planning.
As a member of the Engineering Leadership Team, they will manage the mechanical maintenance resources and processes to ensure delivery of service and a safe, reliable plant achieving production and quality targets. They will lead and implement strategic management of plant assets and long-term upgrades and replacements as needed.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Leading a Mechanical Team and responsible for providing technical advice and expertise on all mechanical maintenance activities on the Grimsby site.
- Responsible for ensuring assets are maintained so they operate safely and reliably in a cost-effective manner.
- Lead the planning and prioritisation of weekly and shutdown maintenance / operations tasks through the effective use of SAP and planning tools, ensuring compliance with high-level KPI's.
- Through the use of asset reliability data / OEE losses, we ensure proper RCA / investigations are performed. Identify and organise asset improvement projects providing justifications for savings for inclusion of capex vouchers.
- Ensures contract companies are responsive to company needs and provide a quality service
- Develops the Ageing Plant strategy.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety, health and environmental procedures in the area of responsibility.
Our expectations for this role
- A proven leader of people and technical delivery, able to work as 'Lenzing One Team', solving complex engineering / process problems.
- Good working knowledge of continuous process plant and equipment (rotating and fixed), maintenance strategies such as risk based inspections (RBI), planned, predictive and run to failure. Statutory regulations; PSSR, LOLER, PUWER along with a thorough understanding of ASME & API construction / repair codes. Working knowledge of management of change and SAP processes.
- A highly competent, credible and experienced leader who is accountable for the performance of people and operations. A team player with a collaborative One Team approach. A positive can-do attitude.
- Someone that can plan, organise and coordinate, inspire, motivate and encourage your team. Ethical, credible and consistent, uses initiative with a hands-on approach.
- Safety conscious and able to lead and develop a team to implement and maintain the best engineering practices. Able to achieve business and team goals through KPI management.
- Educated to MEng / BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- The correct right to work in the UK without expiry.
