TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel within UK and internationally

A need for a Head of Systems Engineering Lifecycle has arisen in Airbus Defence and Space in our Cyber division specialising in high-grade encryption devices. This position oversees and incorporates the Systems Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Speciality Engineering, Laboratories, Integration and Test Teams. This is a new role within our organisation, giving the post-holder an opportunity to truly establish themselves in this fast-growing industry.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- First Line Management of up to 12 Team Leaders and/or Principal Engineers within the Engineering Lifecycle Capability
- Second Line Management of up to six teams / 70+ Engineers
- Implementation and governance of System Engineering and Test activities throughout the Engineering Lifecycle incorporating the associated Tools, Processes, Standards and Best Practices
- Laboratory Design and Management
- Safety and Security Regulatory Compliance of Products and Engineering Environments
- Mentorship of participants in our Early Career Programme
ABOUT YOU
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline with demonstrated experience of:
- First Line Management and leadership in a matrix organisation
- Implementation and governance of System Engineering and Test activities
- Laboratory Design and Management
- Business and Quality Management Systems
- Safety and Security Regulatory Compliance of Products and Engineering Environments
- Solutions Architecture Methodologies and Tools
- Programme/Project Management Best Practices
- External Customer and Internal Stakeholder Engagement
