As the Band EO Mechanical Transport Manager in the Joint Aircraft Recovery and Transportation Squadron (JARTS) you will be responsible for the management of personnel, vehicles, equipment, infrastructure and associated funding allocated in support of MT, to accomplish the Unit’s mission and core outputs.

You will also be responsible for ensuring JARTS facilities are maintained appropriately, raising corrective work requirements to appropriate organisations, and ensuring timely repairs when required.

The main duties are:

The effective management of Sqn MT personnel and ensuring that all Sqn personnel are trained to fulfil their duties.
Ensuring the through life management of MT vehicles are safe to operate, maximising vehicle, trailer, and associated ground support equipment availability through effective fleet management processes, maintaining appropriate records in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Manage MT related budgets within your financial delegation, providing auditable records of expenditure and preparing estimates for future requirements.
Managing MT related IT systems as the JAMES administrator for JARTS in compliance with mandated processes.
Promulgation and distribution of Regulations and policy updates, briefing personnel on pertinent changes and implementing updates to Sqn Orders as required.
Monitor MT related contracts to ensure the delivery of expected performance requirements, addressing any shortfalls and briefing Sqn Management on issues that impact the delivery of JARTS outputs.
Implementation of road safety strategies and carrying out investigations related to safety issues involving Sqn personnel and vehicles / equipment.
Ensuring all MT related activities are managed within MOD policy, including but not limited to Health and Safety Regulations, and MOD Environmental and Quality Management policies.
The management of transportation tasking, ensuring sufficient personnel are qualified to achieve tasks and monitor compliance with ADR and CDG Road requirements.

You will be responsible for assuring Officer Commanding JARTS that all legislative and regulatory requirements are satisfied as a minimum. Furthermore, you will assure that maintenance carried out on JARTS vehicles is compliant with requirements.

Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.

Engineering PM – Optical, Position Description

Support Project Management team with the deployment of Optical systems solutions.

SCOPE

• As part of the Major and Markets franchise, the role of Engineering PM is to provide support for technical related matters relative to implementation of optical networks and reconfiguration services.
• Product line includes Optical 6500 Layer 0, Layer 1, and Layer 2.  RLS (Reconfigurable Line system), ELS, Waveservers, Waverouters etc.
• The EPM collaborate with the PM team members about the proposed optical solutions, to ensure Ciena delivers a timely and quality service to the customer.
• The EPM is a customer facing position and will be responsible for some presentations and/or consultation with the end-customer.
• The EPM will provide a first point of contact for field deployment related issues, and support for the implementation team.
• The EPM will interface with Sales Engineering and the various services engineering teams (upgrades, reconfiguration team, deployment teams, etc.) to ensure a smooth delivery of the technical solution to the end customer.
• Troubleshooting skills and previous knowledge of Ciena portfolio an asset.
