My client, a nationally recognised energy from waste facility is looking for an engineering / maintenance manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. The business continues to grow and the upward trend is set to continue with the industry projected for huge growth in the future.

Working as part of the site leadership team, we are looking for candidates that can meet the following requirements:

• Experience in practical implementation of a corporate management system with a flexible approach to ensure that critical work is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
• Extensive engineering experience of the process industry or power industry, including the management of PSSR legislation.
• Experience working with Maintenance Management systems.
• Strong leadership skills to lead and develop a new team in a start-up scenario with a no compromise approach to health, safety and environmental compliance, preferably at a senior level within a large department.
• Commercial awareness and budgetary responsibility for maintenance and defect support.
• Experience of contractor management to deliver against KPI's.
• Full UK driving license.

Reporting to the general manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide strong leadership and guidance to the site engineering team, with a safety first mindset.
• Drive improvement across site to deliver a world class operational facility.
• Planning and coordinating shutdowns
• Managing the CAPEX project lifecycle
• Full responsibility for the engineering and maintenance budgets.

This is a permanent role paying £32 - £35K depending on experience, working 39.5 hours per week.

What will you be doing as a Quotes Engineer?

• The role of a quotes engineer is to receive quotes from new or existing customers on a design they are looking to build.
• This design will be made up of switch boards, modular panels and will be used in a variety of industries to source power
• The design is mapped out by using either a 2d or 3d AutoCAD design.
• Your role will be to use the clients drawing to configure the design using the AutoCAD system
• To enable you to identify how the design can be built and what parts will be used
• Once the design has been configured this will then be run their bespoke calcs system to itemise all parts and prices
• Once the final design and quote is ready, you will then send to the customer with information
• The customer will then liaise with you about any additional parts or amendments they would like to make before the quote becomes an order

• Ideally, we would love to hear from candidates with experience within an Electrical or Mechanical field.
• You may have experience working for an electrical distributor or manufacturer
• You may have experience in electrical engineering
• You will be hands on and quick to learn
• You may have experience in working on auto cad design and experienced in 2d or 3d imaging
• You may have experience in designing kitchens
• You will also be computer savvy

Role & Responsibilities:

• Oversee multiple sites from Cardiff to Bristol and manage maintenance schedules and repairs across these sites.
• Respond to emergencies, break-downs, malfunctions, and other operating problems and diagnose faults to minimise disruptions.
• Implement an established maintenance programme and maintain detailed maintenance records so that recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts can be identified and addressed.
• Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair.
• Interrogate and understand maintenance problems and provide plant condition information /recommendations.
• Oversee contractors and ensure work is carried out to the required standards.
• Support with planning and scheduling maintenance activities (for example planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs).
• Fabrication and welding of machine components.
• Support with the development and implementation of repair and maintenance procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
• Mechanical Biased Maintenance Experience.
• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer (or similar role) preferable within heavy industry.
• Knowledge of conveyors, material handling equipment and PLC controlled automated machinery.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
