CBW are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a static site based in Edinburgh. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

- Undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW /LTHW pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems.
- Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations.
- Use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with Guidelines and Controls e.g. Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances.
- Work involves the use of analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop fixed equipment, portable electrical equipment, welding equipment, emergency generators, medical gas equipment (patient use) suction units, geared drives.

Person Specification:

- Required qualifications are an appropriately recognised Mechanical/Engineering apprenticeship.
- C&G, Scotvec (SVQ3), or equivalent.
- This role includes a DS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.

An experience Domestic Gas Engineer is required in Edinburgh by a leading name in the boiler market to work across their region, carrying out Domestic Heating & Boiler repairs and servicing. The position will see you working on central heating boilers and some associated gas appliances in domestic properties, both private and some housing association homes too. The role will see you at times fault finding, diagnosing and repairing boilers which some other previous engineers or other companies were not able to. The opportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for a Development Consent Order (DCO) Project Engineering Manager. In this role, you will take ownership of the project’s technical assumptions and oversee all engineering activities. The DCO Project Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with other project work package managers to ensure the project design is optimized for constructability and operability. You’ll be responsible for fostering a strong, collaborative, and positive working culture within the Project Engineering Team and across various functions. Additionally, you’ll ensure that all engineering activities align with statutory requirements and EDF Renewables policies, including Zero Harm, Quality, Engineering, and Design Management. This role requires a focus on risk management and consideration of lifetime project costs.
What you’ll be doingAs DCO Project Engineering Manager your key responsibilities will adapt appropriately to the project lifecycle stage, for instance in the:

- Pre-planning consent stages, the focus is on, supporting the planning process and providing a viable engineering concept design; and
- Post-planning consent phase, the focus is on readiness for financial decisions and procurement; setting up and managing contractors and client assurance of design; overseeing site activities and commissioning; and accepting technical documentation at handover.

Examples of responsibilities across all project stages are as follows:

- Manage and develop the scope for all design and engineering work packages under the Project scope;
- Expand the identified scope into a work breakdown structure that identifies clear activities, deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines and delivery target.
- Assist the Project Manager to develop the programme and project management plans. Be responsible for, monitor and report on the progress of activities within its boundaries.
- Develop the Engineering Management Plan and / or Design Management Plan to identify how Engineering will be delivered, governance applied and quality controlled. This includes sub-ordinate documentation such as: CDM related documentation; technical RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies); stage plans; Pre-Construction Information; basis of design; requirements register; and interface control documents.
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure engineering and procurement related works are considered and well aligned in the overall project programme.
- Serve as a technical lead, providing guidance and oversight on engineering team and contractor
- Work with the Planning & Consents Work Package Manager to ensure the project design remains within the consent and is economically viable.
- Manage and hold accountable the Project Engineering Team including contractors and consultants.
- Manage and document the design process.
- Manage interfaces as required by the Project Manager.
- Work with the Asset Operations directorate to ensure operational requirements are understood and incorporated into the design.
- Ensure work activities are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant internal and industry HSE requirements (e.g. CDM).
- Identify and pursue optimisations to maximise project value in conjunction with the rest of the project team.
- Support in the definition of technical team: identify the desired competence and skill sets required, define roles and responsibilities in conjunction with Project Manager.
- Identify procurement needs for engineering services in terms of scope, duration and cost. Support the procuring of these services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Identity & Authentication Platform (ID&Auth), which is responsible for delivering capabilities to enable secure client and digital authentication and identity across all the bank's digital channels.

We are looking for a software engineer with experience in back-end development using Java to join our growing engineering team. You'll be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable services as part of our microservices-based architecture, while continuing to build your skills with the latest tools and frameworks.

In this role, you'll get the chance to work with modern technologies, including microservices architectures, cloud-based infrastructure, and containerized environments.

You'll play a key role in developing, testing, and optimizing back-end services that support seamless user experiences and integrate with various front-end and external systems.

What will you be doing with us?

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality back-end services using Java and related technologies. 

• Develop containerized applications using Docker and deploy them in Kubernetes environments. 
  Implement Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to create well-structured, domain-focused systems that reflect business requirements. 

• Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD), ensuring that code is thoroughly tested and of the highest quality. 

• Collaborate closely with the Tech Lead and other engineers to define and prioritize back-end services and APIs. 

• Integrate with front-end components and third-party APIs, ensuring smooth and efficient communication between systems. 

• Optimize and refactor existing codebases for performance, scalability, and maintainability. 

• Implement best practices for security, error handling, logging, and monitoring. 
  Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and team performance.

•  Work closely with the DevOps team to deploy and manage services in cloud environments. 
  Continuously evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to improve the back-end architecture. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Software Engineering experience - Java

• Strong back-end development experience using Java, with expertise in microservices architecture and Spring Boot

We have some exciting opportunities for 2 x Electrical Project Engineers, specialising in Electrical engineering projects on hazardous area installations across the UK. You will be home start. The client owns and operates the National Transmission system (NTS). This consists of 7600km of large diameter high pressure natural gas pipelines, gas terminals, compressor stations and above ground installations (AGI’s).

The primary role is to deliver capital projects to Time, Cost, and Quality within project governance requirements to ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental issues are managed throughout the project.

This role will have end to end accountability for the definition, development, delivery, and closure of investment projects for Gas Transmission, ensuring that delivery of projects which meet all safety, environmental, functional performance, financial performance, and regulatory requirements.

The daily duties will be as follows:

• Lead on design management activities, ensuring the designs are compliant with National Gas technical specifications and are authorised in accordance with the National Gas modification process (‘G/35 process’).
• Complete design ‘stakeholder reviews’ of Contractor’s design submissions to ensure these meet National Gas contract scopes and technical requirements.
• Support development and/or review of electrical designs for temporary electrical supplies.
• Liaise with all members of the project team (including contractors) to complete works in line with the programme.
• Attend factory visits and support the review of associated quality documentation.
• Support with resolution of issues that arise during site activities.
• Undertake safety/technical inspections on site.
• Undertake regular on-site audits to evaluate and assess safety and environmental protection measures implemented throughout the construction and commissioning phases. Inspect quality of design, installation, testing and commissioning and identify defects that need rectification before completion.
• Undertake quality assessment of electrical and instrumentation test records.
• Support with the collation and verification of Operational and Maintenance Manuals of newly installed assets.
• Support with the collation and verification of the DSEAR Explosion Protection Document pack (EPD).
• Review and sign off red-line drawings and operational drawings to ensure accuracy of records of newly installed assets.
• Review and verify Cyber Register and Asset Records.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Test and challenge Design, Installation, Test and Maintenance requirements as appropriate and highlight areas for improvement to ensure implementation of robust solution.
