An opportunity has arisen within London North West Healthcare NHS Trust for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Estates Department as a Senior Engineer (Mechanical).

The Senior Engineer will report to the Deputy Head of Estates and have responsibility and accountability for ensuring that Trust premises are safe for patients, staff and visitors. This role is a senior member of the Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) team with professional accountability for estate building fabric, and strong emphasis on operational management of the engineering infrastructure and maintenance teams.









The Senior Engineer will support and deputise for the Deputy Head of Estates across all areas of their work and will be responsible for the day-to-day Hard FM operational management of buildings and engineering services, including managing maintenance, engineering functions, sustainability, energy, Health and Safety and backlog maintenance.



The post-holder will be professionally qualified and have experience in the areas of: water safety, LV/HV electrical systems, ventilation systems, medical gases, lifts, pressure systems, confined spaces, management of asbestos, management of contractors, asset management in leading and managing estate teams and contractors.



The post-holder will support the E&F team in the development of the Estates Strategy utilising the latest ERIC data alongside key information from National Policy standards, HTM/HBN guidance and industry best practice.



The post-holder will have a key role in leading Hard FM aspects the Trust’s FM Transformation Programme which will create an EFM service which is fit for the future.

Key Responsibilities:


- Routine Maintenance: Conduct planned maintenance on sewage and surface water pump stations, treatment plants, and booster sets.
- Emergency Response: Attend in-hours and out-of-hours emergency callouts, resolving issues on-site to ensure minimal disruption.
- Repairs: Complete repairs and remedial tasks with attention to quality and safety.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:


- Industry Experience: Proven experience working as a pump engineer on surface and foul water pumps.
- Strong Work Ethic: Willingness to work in demanding conditions and “get stuck in” when needed.
- Problem Solver: Practical mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Driving Licence: Full UK Driving licence

Working Hours:


- Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am - 5 pm
- On Call Rota: Participation in the 24/7 call-out rota is required.

Pay and benefits:


- Rate: Up to £41,600 pa depending on experience
- Overtime: Paid at time and a half
- Door to Door pay

Based in the London or Essex area the role will involve working across the London region on high-end equipment.

Working on a day shift basis and being paid door to door, the main duties will include the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems, including breakdowns, repairs, warranty issues, and installations. In addition as a more senior member of the team it will also include providing technical training and support to junior team members

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of working in commercial refrigeration (industrial, supermarket/retail, or similar) and/or air conditioning, carrying out fault finding and repairs and hold an FGAS certification. In addition candidates will ideally have an SPA card and must have a full clean driving licence. Some mechanical knowledge is essential and candidates should be able to read and understand schematic diagrams

We are currently looking for an experienced Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Service Engineer to join one of our clients in the north west London/ Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire areas.

The client is a market-leading supplier in the UK HVAC marketplace, and operate nationwide, dealing predominantly with servicing and maintenance of equipment.

This is a field based role serving north west and Central London and will include travel throughout these areas.

The main responsibilities will include working on the service, fault finding and repair of HVAC systems at clients premises ensuring total customer satisfaction
The main duties will include:-

• Service & Maintenance of air conditioning, ventilation equipment & chillers
• F-gas compliance checks on varied A/C systems
• Fault-finding/diagnostics of air conditioning systems
• Accurate & timely reporting of works undertaken
• Complete works in a safe & competent manner
• Provide suggestions on improvements to clients and the office team as to how systems can be utilised better or best practice to reduce energy consumption
• Evaluate all systems for new and revised maintenance jobs and ensure the most cost-effective and time-conscious outcome is achieved.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of working in a similar role and be competent in the installation, fault finding and repair of HVAC systems. It is essential that candidates are trained to F-Gas Level 1 and will ideally be Gas Safe trained/certified although this is not essential. In addition, a full driving licence, preferably clean, is essential

Candidates will also have experience of working in customer facing roles and be able to deal with clients at all levels in a diplomatic manner
