Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

• Assist in providing services to the WHS serviced organizations and tenants concerning fire code interpretation and enforcement; fire hazard/protection analysis; fire and life safety systems review.
• Serve as a fire protection engineer performing detailed reviews of design and shop drawings.
• Evaluate work for compliance with federal accessibility, building, and fire codes.
• Incumbent provides management of fire prevention programs.

• You will operate electrical test equipment (e.g., voltage detectors, multimeters) to determine the presence of electrical energy.
• You will conduct visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for maintenance or repair work.
• You will lay out job systems and components from blueprints and sketches in compliance with federal, state, and local codes.
• You will follow instructions specified in work orders to perform maintenance and repair work.

• You will act as the central clearing house for all data calls and will act as the Port Engineers agent at all required RMC off-ship meetings and will ensure the port engineers spend as much time on their assigned ships.
• You will monitor and assess Port Engineer (PE) and Combat Systems Port Engineers (CSPE) performance and deliverables as required to support assigned ship.
• You will provide a local focal point for all issues related to the Port Engineer program and Port Engineer performance.
• You will provide timekeeping, leave, Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) approval, and financial oversight of local Port Engineer TAD and annual appraisals.
• You will monitor and certify Port Engineer progress and performance in completing the Port Engineer Training and Certification program.
• You will ensure continued viability of the Port Engineer Program.
• You will provide regular reports on status of assigned ships maintenance to the Type commander.

• You will conduct on-site assessment of Facility Support Contracts to observe work performance and methods employed to ensure compliance.

• You will review contract specifications for compatibility with the administration of performance assessment methods and procedures.
• You will serve as a liaison between the Contracting Officer’s Representative, the Contractor, and the Contracting Officer.

As a Electronic Engineer, GS-0855-14, your typical work assignments may include the following:

• Responsible for the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing information technology and wireless communications systems.
• Ensure assigned projects remain consistent with Spectrum Management program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies.
• Plan, organize, and manage activities of the organization, ensuring that engineering work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
• Represent the agency as a key member on various national level government forums/working groups.

• You will serve as a team leader, distribute and balance the workload among team members in accordance with established guidelines.
• You will plan, develop, promote and coordinate multiple Labor Relations programs to meet immediate and long-range needs of the command.
• You will manage a human resources program through a staff of human resources specialists and assistants.

• You will analyze contractor's work to identify and recommend corrective action to avoid possible issues (e.g., delays, claims, inefficient performance).
• You will discuss contract modification issues (e.g., funding, tasking, manpower) with contractors and agency or activity personnel.
• You will determine if the correct deliverables were provided and invoiced by contractors.
• You will conduct follow up assessment to ensure deficiency corrections have been applied.

As a ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, GS-0850-14, your typical work assignments are to serve as Chief Engineer for Electrical Systems, Engineering Repair, Design, Review and related Building Commissioning. Responsibilities may include, and are not limited to:

• Assign planning and utilization initiatives for the various building electrical system renovations and operation.
• Develop and implement new and innovative engineering methods to the design of electrical utility systems using performance specifications and incentive award approach and includes all related electrical systems pertaining to existing utilities and those impacted by the Pentagon Reservation.
• Provide leadership by rendering expert advice to various agencies, A&E Firms and the Pentagon Renovation Office concerning the design, construction, maintenance of the electrical systems.

• You will coordinate a variety of security issues with other commands, higher echelons, and external organizations to address cybersecurity requirements.
• You will evaluate the impact of new laws and guidance on current programs and systems and recommend changes to existing plans and policies to ensure compliance and responsiveness.
• You will execute the administration of the Command Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Program.
• You will modify IT plans and policies to respond to changes in the command's business or mission requirements and processes or change in legislation or regulatory requirements.
• You will develop project documentation including statements of work, business case analyses, charter, scope, schedule, cost, risk, stakeholder and communication management plans.

• You will provide engineering support to maintenance and operations work forces to include preventive maintenance, repairs, and operations related to thermal utilities.
• You will update procedures, policies and methods for operation and maintenance of steam generation and distribution of steam and natural gas.
• You will conduct condition assessment for thermal (steam and natural gas) utility systems and develop projects to repair and improve them.
