SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

TRURO, CORNWALL

£52,000 + BONUS + HYBRID + BENEFITS

Due to continued success and company expansion, my client are looking to add to their skilled team with the addition of an experienced Electrical Design Engineer, with experience in the Building Services/HVAC arena.

We are looking for an ambitious person, with good experience in delivering projects in the Building services sector, you will typically be working with clients in the following industries; Defence, Healthcare and Education. THE ROLE:

• Act as part of a design team to ensure successful timely preparation and delivery on project objectives, including providing technical support
• Attend specification meetings.
• Taking a senior role on design projects, predominantly of a building services and HVAC nature - lots of work is done with clients in the defence and healthcare sectors.
• Designing lighting systems, AC systems and power generator/distribution systems.
• Produce budgets for clients based on their specifications.
• Liaise with the client and external design teams as necessary for the successful delivery of projects.
• Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to electrical design within building services.
• Compile specifications, drawings and contract documents.
• Identify scope and schedule changes, in accordance with the change control process, maintain planning and cost control on all scopes

THE PERSON:

• Hold a relevant bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, building services engineering, or equivalent qualification, or can demonstrate sufficient suitable design experience.
• Track record of work on a variety of building services designs and delivery of small and large scale projects
• Be fully IT literate and with relevant experience of AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech and Dialux.
• Hold a full UK driving license
• Demonstrate the capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Understanding of setting and managing budgets, and making sound financial decisions

A main contractor is recruiting a Graduate Site Engineer to deliver a highways project in St Austell, Cornwall. The business delivers projects across the UK in highways and infrastructure for governing bodies and private sector clients with the additional security of long-term frameworks in the local area.

Graduate Site Engineer responsibilities:

• Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
• Permits
• Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD

Site Engineer - Heavy Civil & Groundworks - Bury St Edmunds

A leading construction company is seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team working on a challenging highways project in Bury St Edmunds. This project will involve a range of complex heavy civil and groundworks activities, requiring strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety.

About the Project:

Your role will be crucial in ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of the heavy civil and groundworks package, which includes:

• Excavation & Earthworks: Overseeing the excavation, grading, and compaction of large areas of earth, including potentially challenging ground conditions.
• Foundation Construction: Providing technical support for the construction of complex foundations for the prison buildings, including concrete pours and reinforcement installation.
• Drainage & Utilities: Supervising the installation of drainage systems, utilities, and other underground infrastructure.
• Roadworks: Providing technical expertise for the construction of access roads, parking areas, and internal site roadways.

About the Role:

As Site Engineer, you will work closely with the Site Manager and other project team members to ensure the technical accuracy and smooth execution of the heavy civil and groundworks package. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Setting Out & Surveying: Accurately establishing control points, setting out lines, levels, and grades, ensuring the precise alignment and construction of all elements.
• Technical Support: Providing technical support to the site team, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and design requirements.
• Quality Control: Implementing and monitoring quality control procedures, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of workmanship and complies with project specifications.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving technical challenges that arise during construction, providing solutions to ensure the project stays on track.
• Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of construction activities, including drawings, calculations, and reports.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven Experience: You posses any experience as a Site Engineer in the heavy civil and groundworks sector, with a proven track record of working on complex projects. Experience working on high-security construction projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: You have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials related to heavy civil and groundworks, including excavation, foundations, drainage, and roadworks.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: You are a strong problem solver, able to think critically and find practical solutions to technical challenges.
• Technical Proficiency: You are proficient in using surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS), CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and other relevant technical applications.
• Communication Skills: You are an effective communicator, able to clearly convey technical information to the site team, project managers, and other stakeholders.
