• You will provide technical leadership and engineering support in the operations and maintenance of range systems including a focus on systems integration of equipment with classified and unclassified networks and range systems infrastructure.

• Responsible for overall accountability, as well as day-to-day activities that ensure the medical center is meeting all aspects of the EOCC program.
• Directs the formal regular surveillance rounds that are required by accreditation at established intervals within the medical center, the Outpatient Care Center (OPC) and each of the 10 CBOCs located throughout Arizona.
• Provides professional, authoritative interpretations to higher level PVAHCS leadership regarding Federal safety standards to resolve conflicts, controversies, and disputes over the applicability of Federal standards, particularly where Arizona state policies potentially conflict with Federal regulations.
• Communicates to senior colleagues and leadership, the relevance of proposed solutions, critical to the success of this high-profile program, and how these contribute to the accomplishment of the various facility services' goals within the VISN and beyond.
• Works to eliminate redundancies and gaps between the administration and provision of Safety programs to include Life Safety concerns related to NFPA standards.

• Serves as a point of contact for all energy and water related matters for the installation with the Energy Manager.

The Supervisory Projects Engineer is a key engineering advisor reporting directly to the Chief of Engineering Service. The Supervisory Projects Engineer is a responsible leader and a member of the Engineering management team and is relied on for authoritative advice on all aspects of design and construction matters. This position provides matrix management support and technical expert consultation to the Chief of Engineering Service for all issues relative to the areas listed above. The Supervisory Projects Engineer makes recommendations to the Chief of Engineering for final approval, and has responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Medical Center Design and Construction program and oversight. Engineering Project Management and Administration

• Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, and management processes for the Engineering Service Project Section that includes setting qualitative and quantitative standards.
• Within Projects Section, the Supervisory Project Engineer manages human resource functions such as hiring, performance, training and development.
• Provides technical advice on a wide range of engineering issues, including the Strategic Capital Investment Plan, Capital Asset Inventory, Capital Asset Resource Survey, Deferred Maintenance, and a myriad of engineering related topics.
• The Supervisory Project Engineer is a member of and participates on station, VISN, and national committees and work groups.
• Responsible for providing professional engineering direction to ensure compliance with legislative and accrediting requirements at the Medical Center for all design and construction projects.

Schedule and perform Annual Site Inspection (ASI) on each facility. Participate on all Periodic Facility Reviews (PFR) and Comprehensive Reviews (CR) scheduled for that year. Write Inspection Report as necessary.

-Participates in the Review of Operation and Maintenance (ROM) of two major canal systems and several irrigation districts.

The Biomedical Engineer assists with the overall operations of the Biomedical Engineering program at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS). Incumbent provides engineering review, guidance, and development of the Medical Equipment Management Program encompassing professional engineering consulting with medical staff in all areas involving medical instrumentation. This includes in-house services for calibration, repair and safety of all medical instrumentation, and assurance of meeting guidelines set by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and other code-setting agencies regarding overall maintenance and safety of medical instrumentation. The incumbent gives critical support to the Biomedical Engineering program by interacting with professional and medical staff. The incumbent is a member of numerous committees that involve medical equipment issues, healthcare technology management processes, and emerging medical technology. The incumbent is able to develop material for continuing education program for clinical or research staff, that addresses the principles and application of medical technology, and/or biomedical theory to solve biomedical engineering problems. The incumbent is able to further support the clinical mission by contributing to the continuing education program for clinical staff and develop a curriculum for a continuing education program that addresses the safe and effective use of medical technology and/or research devices.

Major duties included but are not limited to:

• Supporting and conducting a comprehensive medical equipment management program that must ensure the safety, reliability, and diagnostic/therapeutic efficacy of all devices employed in the direct and indirect delivery of patient care.
• Assists in the development of an equipment management program at NAVAHCS. The incumbent is responsible for having knowledge of a medical equipment management program which includes complete life cycle management of medical equipment and systems.
• Have the knowledge of basic project management principles to coordinate and assist in managing NAVAHCS projects that require Biomedical Engineering as the lead or an interface such as those applies in the health care setting for medical equipment and information system implementation.
• Functions as the subject matter expert in the field of biomedical engineering to directly support specialized clinical technology, including service, system administration, training, quality assurance, and life-cycle management. The incumbent is responsible for advising clinical and administrative staff on medical technology including existing and emerging technology, addressing the viability, long-term suitability, compatibility and/or safety.
