As a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) on the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) Advanced Practice Team bank you will provide exceptional clinical supervision and mentoring to our trainee ACPs through expert knowledge and wide-ranging experience of community-based urgent and unscheduled care. With a background of nursing, paramedicine or other relevant allied health profession you will have completed training to practice as an autonomous ACP and be able to work comfortably in the out of hospital environment at the higher margins of your professional capability.

You’ll work alongside our trainee ACPs in clinical operations, helping to develop and guide their clinical practice and supporting their educational journey. You’ll have experience in supervision and mentoring backed by a relevant qualification, and be comfortable providing constructive feedback and creating action plans where necessary.

As an ACP you will demonstrate proficiency across the four pillars of advanced practice (clinical practice, senior leadership, training and education, audit and research). You’ll have completed a relevant masters award and will be a qualified and experienced independent and supplementary prescriber.

Main duties of the job

ACPs will provide clinical supervision, mentorship, development and support to our cohort of trainee advanced practitioners. They will work across the four pillars of advanced practice and must be able to evidence that they meet the Health Education England / National Health Service England (HEE/NHSE) requirements of this role. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centre's and other similar facilities.

We can offer you a 3 week paid training course. You would need to be available to attend a training on a full time basis over a period of 15 workings days. Clinically trained to standards that allow you to be competent as a ‘First Person on Scene’, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform. Every day is different as an ACA and you could really make a difference to our patients.

During the training course it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided so you will need to consider the costs and travel expense of attending these venues. As an example Welwyn Garden City and Chelmsford. You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.

The Patient Transport Services arranges the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences.



1. Maintain an appropriate level of care for patients, relevant to their condition. This includes recognition of when additional skills or support may be needed.

7. Maintain clear and regular communication with the Ambulance Liaison Office and other Healthcare professionals / colleagues, in line with agreed protocols, e.g. ISO and Caldicott. Ensure that the needs of the patient are met and operational efficiency and effectiveness is maintained.
8. Assist patients in their homes, both prior to and after transportation, ensuring they have their basic needs catered for and their homes are safe. This includes measuring, highlighting and reporting areas of risk in line with Trust risk assessment procedures.
9. Physically manoeuvre and / or lift patients, including the use of Trust supplied carrying aids, in circumstances where patients are unable to manage alone, after undertaking a manual handling risk assessment e.g. up and down stairs and within restricted spaces.
10. Ensure that patients are taken to and collected from the agreed treatment area within the hospital or centre in a timely basis.
11. Provide any clinical assistance to the authorised level of competence in all circumstances that require it.
12. Participate in equipment trials, working parties and highlighting areas of potential personal and organisation service development.
13. Required to take personal responsibility for continued professional development through the personal development review process, the knowledge and skills framework and Trust training sessions.

We are looking for a dynamic thinker to support our local planning of patient journeys. The role involves effectively planning patient journeys to and from home / health care setting using our cleric system and against set key performance indicators.

Our patients have varying clinical and mobility needs, some of our patients travel regularly with us into renal and oncology units. Our patients and staff are our priority, ensuring we show care, compassion and empathy.

The role is to ensure that all motor vehicle repairs, pre-planned maintenance repairs and vehicle servicing, are completed within an accurate time scale and in a cost-efficient manner on vehicles where appropriate training has been provided.

To provide a safe, effective, and efficient maintenance and repair service within MOT standards for all vehicles and maintained by East of England Ambulance Service.

Responsible for diagnosing faults in vehicles and decide on the extent of the work required, making informed decisions as to the repair or replacement of faulty units.

You need a full UK manual car driving licence, with one years driving experience.

This is initially a two-year fixed term secondment however if permanent funding becomes available the successful applicant will be made permanent.
