Hays are partnering with a leading publishing organisation to recruit a Credit Manager to join their team in Colchester.

You would be responsible for:
Managing and supporting a small credit team, promoting team effort and reviewing efforts during regular meetings across divisions.
- Oversee credit limit changes and ensure adherence to the Credit Policy.
- Prepare and present reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior stakeholders for visibility into collections performance.
- Provide consolidated reporting to finance and business stakeholders for informed decision-making.
Another key part of the role would be to monitor and maintain the relationship with the outsourced credit team. Ensuring the responsibility for agreed actions, organising meetings and coordinating problem-solving solutions.
- Monitor BPO O2C performance metrics and KPIs to ensure service quality, delivery efficiency and policy compliance.
- Create a continuous improvement pipeline for O2C process improvement and optimisation within BPO operations and work with the partner to deliver these.
Additionally, you would be responsible for implementing and monitoring the credit policy. You would be looking to drive procedures and strategies to minimise risk to the business.
- Develop strategies to enhance collection performance for strategic customer accounts using best practices.
- Work with Finance to ensure an effective month-end close with clear ledger quality, provisions, and cash flow/collections forecasts.
- Collaborate with Internal Control to apply and improve collections and cash application-related RACMs.
- Support internal or external audit requests
The ideal candidate would have:
- Strong credit management skills, previously shaping credit control strategies and implementing improvements
- Ability to build and develop relationships with stakeholders. Maintain and branch relationship with BPO
- Great understanding of the order to cash processes and cash application connections
- Strong analytical skills interpreting data processing and excellent communication to provide enlightening recommendations and suggestions.
- Proficient in MS packages and additional financial systems.
Preferred but not essential:
- Chartered Institute of Credit Management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to credit operations
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
