Responsibilities:

• Trust tax knowledge is essential as is a wide knowledge of personal taxation.
• Act as a point of contact within the firm for the client together with the other senior staff.
• Deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of existing clients including billings and cash collection within the firm's criteria but with a significant element of ad hoc consultancy work.
• Pro-actively manage your own workload, provide overall support to Partners on client matters and assist Partners in the management of the group.
• Recognise business and sales opportunities and progress these forward with other senior staff. A strong appetite for growing the portfolio and team is required.

To be successful you will have

• Experience providing trust, estate and charity advice to high net worth individuals
• Proven specialist technical private client experience, and the ability to deal with complex tax issues, gained within a practice environment
• Experience of reviewing Trust accounts and associated tax accounting aspects (eg computing tax pools)
• Experience of dealing with HNW clients
• Some experience of and an appetite for seeking opportunities for developing new clients and for selling new services to existing clients
• Staff management experience
• CTA and/or STEP qualified

This is a new Ledger Analyst job. The main purpose of this new job is to maintain and actively resolve historical and current issues within a specific portfolio; reconciliation and allocation of cash and monitoring of bad debt exposure; ensuring all inward payments to third parties are made; liaising and updating 4 key teams across the business. Duties will be varied, and include, but not limited to:

• Responsible for the management of payable amounts (inward balances) on designated accounts.
• Responsible for the investigation and reconciliation of unallocated cash.
• Ensure that all cash received is posted to the ledgers and reconciled with technical transactions within 30 days of receipt.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this job, you will need to be proactive, highly motivated and willing to learn new skills and systems; have previous ledger reconciliation experience which can demonstrate the ability to prioritise and break down complex tasks; insurance or financial services experience is beneficial, as well as being punctual and having the ability to ensure deadlines are met.

Your new role
The main purpose of the role will be to work with senior leadership in driving and delivering medium to long term strategic plans. • Perform post project analysis to validate return on investment vs business case.

• Collaborate on new product development and assess business case and strategy.
• Support the annual budget and forecasting process
• Attend regular performance reviews to identify gaps to forecast and recommend necessary actions to rectify gaps.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, but the exact working pattern is flexible. This company offer a hybrid working set-up of 7 days in 10 within the office as a minimum.


What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant and have significant experience in a similar commercial manufacturing/FMCG background. You will ideally have exposure to SAP, but this is not essential. You will have excellent communication and collaboration skills and be able to work in tandem with operational elements of the business. You will be a creative and innovative thinker and be able to identify areas of operational improvement. Experience in project management would be advantageous.

Hays are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Finance Administrator for a leading Accountancy firm in Ipswich. This is a newly created full-time role which can be combined with an element of home-working under the firm's agile working policy, once up to speed in the role.

About the team

About the role
You will be responsible for the maintenance of the Purchase Ledger and undertaking bookkeeping using Sage. Credit Controller opportunity with a leading firm in Ipswich. You will be required to manage day-to-day credit control activities by monitoring and having a proactive approach to the collection of customer debt. Communicating with internal colleagues and customers to resolve queries is a key requirement, along with reporting and improving processes.
About the roleWorking as a Credit Controller you will be working as part of a central Finance team, and will:

• Manage a portfolio of debtor accounts, maintaining an accurate and up to date record of debtors, payments received, and outstanding payments
• Post and allocate daily receipts to accounting systems
• Provide accounts information to internal departments
• Maintain detailed and accurate notes regarding debtors on our internal system and ensure the team leader is equipped with the relevant data on the Credit Controller's assigned ledger
• Resolve queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices, liaising where appropriate with sales and warehouse departments
• Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
• Monitor payment terms and following up if missed
• Review debtors on a regular basis and contact customers who have taken extended or unauthorised credit terms
• Escalate debtors that fail to meet the terms of their credit agreement. Agreeing payment plans for those accounts in arrears
• Perform credit checks on new customers in line with company guidelines and limits and ensure required data is up to date and accurately recorded
• Work with solicitors in the preparation of data and reports required for pursuing legal action
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure close working and shared knowledge
• Provide accurate and regular reports on debtors within the accounts you manage, including updates on progress and potential risks
• Assist & provide cover for the finance team as and when required.

Minimum criteria for the role

• 3 years of recent credit control work experience
• Experience of working both as part of a team and by self to achieve targets
• Confident and experienced in using a variety of IT systems with good knowledge and experience of Excel and Word.
